Stop shoving PvP down my throat, please

75% of all the legendaries are gated behind pvp rep / crucible marks Almost all of the exotic bounties have difficult pvp steps Thorn – Exotic Handgun -- Kill Guardians in the Crucible using void damage. Deaths slow your progress greatly! Bad Juju – Exotic Pulse Rifle -- Fight in the Crucible and obtain 10,000 points and have a kill to death ratio above 1-1 Invective – Shotgun -- Fight in the Crucible and achieve 25 more kills than deaths. Fate of All Fools – Exotic Scout Rifle -- Multiple PvP steps Every special event that has occurred is occurring or is scheduled to occur is pvp oriented Salvage - PvP Combined Arms - PvP Queen's Wrath - PvP/PvE Iron Banner - PvP I thought Queen's bounty was going to be a pure pve event, but alas 3 out of the 4 bounties for today are, you guessed it, pvp bounties. Why the extreme bias in favor of pvp when this game was touted as a shared world, rpg style loot, exploration heavy, "play your way" kind of game? If you're going to have all these pvp events and do nothing for the pvers you're cutting yourselves off at the knees, and the description of the game offered by Bungie feels misleading. Possible solutions: Give bounties dual objectives, 1 that's pvp centric and 1 that's pve centric and allow the player to choose which way to finish the bounties. Open up all of the vendors to both currencies. I understand that recycling PvP which kind of creates its own content is easier than creating something new for PvE, but I'd be happy even with a recycled content PvE event mixed in with all of the PvP events. Queen event is the best attempt at that thus far, but all of the other events are purely focused on PvP and it just feels as though the PvE is being jilted.

 • I ran through the steps of an exotic weapon bounty thinking it was a PvE thing. When I completed it, it revealed that Part 2 was PvP. I wasn't happy, but I simply discarded the quest in spite of the work I had already put in. I then received ANOTHER exotic weapon bounty that appeared to be a single part with no mention of further steps. When I completed it, another new bounty popped up - CRUCIBLE ONLY. I was enjoying mostly soloing the game in spite of the grind at times and thought I was doing all right. I played strikes with other people and it even had me searching for a clan to join - something I have never done in YEARS of gaming. Destiny inspired me to seek out other people - strangers, that is - to play with cooperatively. Any co-op game I have played in the past I have played exclusively with people I knew outside the game because I want to play with my friends, not necessarily use a game to make friends (not opposed to it, I'm just picky about who I call friend and it's tough to be selective in a game-based environment). Destiny has made me interested in finding Destiny players, finding friends and teammates among Destiny players, and playing with people all the time. However, there is one thing I do not enjoy, something I consider to be the most obnoxious of all forms of multiplayer gaming, and that is PvP. I'm way too old to put up with the immature fratboy behaviour and obnoxious 12 year olds who camp out to prove their (lack of) manhood by one shotting and harassing new players rather than helping. I have played PvP in many different types of games - MMOs, arenas, and so on - and have pretty much wound up despising it universally. So, when I put in an enormous amount of time on a couple of quests that didn't WARN ME in advance that I was going to have to go through some BS PvP gateway, I was furious. I STILL AM. Having this odious gameplay mode crammed down my throat by hiding 75% of the equipment behind it is bad enough. To then WASTE my effing time by having me jump through hoops and then snatching the prize away at the end demonstrates a contempt for anyone who wants to play co-operatively and not competitively with other people. We aren't all MLG wannabes, and having fun in competitive multiplayer takes a particular kind of gamer. Unfortunately, the subset of gamers who reflect poorly on the gaming community in the public eye are largely from this gamer subset - the uber-competitive, misogynistic, inflexible homophobes that make up a small percentage of real gamers but are the most prominently displayed example in the public eye and ruin things for everyone. These are the kind of people I've encountered for years that have and always will turn me off any forced competitive multiplayer. I seriously considered simply quitting the game when I received this "big reveal", but I have worked myself up to level 27 and, as I said, would really like to play co-op with people because it can be damn fun. But I can tell you one thing, from now on I will be looking up any bounties or quests on the web before I embark on them and discover I have to go be shot in the face by 9-year-old campers in order to unlock what I should be able to do through other means. TL;DR: Make a game that doesn't depend on the Crucible, Bungie. You want that component, fine but I agree with the OP: STOP SHOVING GARBAGE DOWN MY THROAT.
