It's recently come to my attention that both crucible and vanguard marks cap at 200, this is much too low. Especially considering that crucible rep at least takes a ridiculously long time to earn. I've played 125 crucible matches, and won 112 of them, and yet I'm only a quarter of the way towards rank 2. Granted I had my dead orbit cloak on for around the first 25 games, but still. Right now I'm sitting on 153 marks, but I've only collected 18 this week, so without purchasing anything I'll cap out at 200 and lose out on 35 this week. So I'm left with 2 options. I can buy a piece of gear I don't need and dismantle it for ascendant shards (most likely), or I can cap out. Why is this so low when ranking up takes so long? I don't need boots, gauntlets, a chest, or a helmet, I need weapons. There's no way I'll hit rank 3 by the end of the week, but I'll definitely hit the cap. Personally I think they need to raise the amount of crucible rep you get for matches, and raise the cap on marks across both factions. I'm sure the community will be able to have a calm debate about this without slinging insults, saying I should just return it, and basically defending yet another poor design choice in general.
I honestly have no hope left that something like that is even possible on here.
1 ReplyEdited by zyla420: 9/25/2014 12:55:11 AMi have also discovered this issue today as well. it's ridiculous for the hard cap on total marks per faction to be set as low as 200. i actually made a thread about this myself cause i didn't see one already started when i searched for it on the forums. in any event i agree this needs to be changed soon. what's the point of even doing any of the content that you would do for amassing marks for buying better stuff when you're getting basically nothing for doing so? if that's the case you'd be better off just going to do patrol missions or shooting at a cave for progression full time and not bother with strikes at all after reaching said cap. *edited for grammar/context*

1 ReplyThat is a very low cap. I can get on board with raising it to at least 500, if not higher.

1 ReplyThey really cap at 200? Seriously? I've been trading in mats for crucible marks so while I'm at 200 I'm nowhere near rank 1, which in itself is a useless rank since it has nothing of value anyway.

2 RepliesDoes no one care?

1 Replythe cap should be at least 500 imo

11 RepliesHuh? Are you under the assumption that you lose what you don't use each week? The cap is fine since in two weeks you can have 400 marks total and thay will buy you fill gear. The marks you earn are yours and won't disappear at the end of the week.

3 Replieslimit crucible matches to 5 a day and strikes to 5 a day and raid attempts to once a week because i dont like people that farm those the mark limit is funny to me because i like to drink the tears of the Q.Q-ers that max it out in 2 days. that is to prevent players from farming it and getting tons of good gear that is far more accessible than a cave that even if it drops a purple you are still at the mercy of the cryptarch...did anyone think that part through?
