75% of all the legendaries are gated behind pvp rep / crucible marks
Almost all of the exotic bounties have difficult pvp steps
Thorn – Exotic Handgun -- Kill Guardians in the Crucible using void damage. Deaths slow your progress greatly!
Bad Juju – Exotic Pulse Rifle -- Fight in the Crucible and obtain 10,000 points and have a kill to death ratio above 1-1
Invective – Shotgun -- Fight in the Crucible and achieve 25 more kills than deaths.
Fate of All Fools – Exotic Scout Rifle -- Multiple PvP steps
Every special event that has occurred is occurring or is scheduled to occur is pvp oriented
Salvage - PvP
Combined Arms - PvP
Queen's Wrath - PvP/PvE
Iron Banner - PvP
I thought Queen's bounty was going to be a pure pve event, but alas 3 out of the 4 bounties for today are, you guessed it, pvp bounties.
Why the extreme bias in favor of pvp when this game was touted as a shared world, rpg style loot, exploration heavy, "play your way" kind of game?
If you're going to have all these pvp events and do nothing for the pvers you're cutting yourselves off at the knees, and the description of the game offered by Bungie feels misleading.
Possible solutions:
Give bounties dual objectives, 1 that's pvp centric and 1 that's pve centric and allow the player to choose which way to finish the bounties.
Open up all of the vendors to both currencies.
I understand that recycling PvP which kind of creates its own content is easier than creating something new for PvE, but I'd be happy even with a recycled content PvE event mixed in with all of the PvP events. Queen event is the best attempt at that thus far, but all of the other events are purely focused on PvP and it just feels as though the PvE is being jilted.

2 RepliesMy exotic bounty made me kill Phogoth, which isn't a big deal. Then it made me kill 500 hive. Still not a big deal. Now I have to kill 500 people in PvP with void weapons and every time I die, I loose value to the bounty.

I got all of my exotic weapons from bountys and doing the vanguard strike list and also I have 3 and about to get a 4th one from a bounty. don't give up on getting them its possible from PVE. I have an auto rifle, rocket launcher and shotgun and about to get a pulse rifle from my second exotic bounty. Just keep going and it will all fall into place. But there is a little to much PVP for the queens bountys.

Should be in feedback, google feedback if you need to know the definition

1 ReplyPlease stop complaining..... 1) they are exotics which means they are the highest possible type of weapons of course they have to test both ur pvp nd pve skills 2) go do a strike playlist for hours and earn enough vanguard rep nd stick to legendary since you obviously have no need for exotic weapons since u wont b playing in the iron banner Exotics nd legendaries have the same stats besides the obvious over the top stat exotic have which would benefit you in PVP not so much a difference in PVE Regenerates ammo?? U can run hide for alittle wen ur out nd u get more Go invisible while aiming you can shoot from a distance in PVE Honestly im terrible at PVP nd im almost done with my exotic shotgun bounty the actual task sounds harder then it really is so stop trying to change the game to fit only your standards be a well rounded player and learn both aspects you may even have fun gettin better at PVP

2 RepliesI wholeheartedly agree. The PvE aspects of this game are its real strengths. Bungie PLEASE stop catering to PVP. Also, I agree with the OP's suggestions for improvement. I maybe could understand pushing PVP if it was a higher quality experience but its far from that. I paid $90 to play PvE...(i.e. my way). This game's future and longevity are in trouble if it continues down this road. Bungie you cannot compete with COD and Battlefield: so please stop trying. And Activision's November COD release is going to take away the very players you are catering too. PvE player are going to determine the ultimate success of this franchise.

2 RepliesDon't play PVP then
-
I personally wouldn't mind PvP all that much if it wasn't so laggy. I do like the Dual completion bounties idea.
-
I agree. This being my first fps i am nowhere near as good as those that play every day, all hours and such so to have to do pvp for rewards is a bummer as more likely then not i may not win. No win= no reward This is also why i have only been taking on pve contracts for the queen, as far between as they are compared to the pvp ones. I do not foresee hitting level 2 anytime soon before this event ends :( Sure hope it is brought back at a later time

14 RepliesEdited by Appell: 9/24/2014 4:20:41 PMAgreed, what would've been better would be two different requirements for the same bounty then you could choose how to finish it. Like "Kill 30 fallen without being hit or kill 10 players with headshots in the crucible" That way PVP'ers could do it through PVP and PVE'ers vice versa. If you complete it through the pve objective you get vanguard, and if you complete it through the pvp objective you get crucible rep, simples.

and this is why people go afk in PVP matches. No one likes being forced to do things so they rebel. The match making reward system is broken anyway, nothing I love more than going 25-3 and getting nothing or coming in first place 4 times in a row and still get nothing while people who go afk or just dont even get more than 5 kills get a legendary.

Edited by LoveItToDeath: 9/24/2014 11:25:19 PMI agree with you. Can I get a refund for my purchase of The Expansion Pack? This is classic "BAIT and SWITCH"!

Well said. There are pvp people and pve people,(yes there are a few that love both) making someone play a part of a game they have not wish to play is just wrong. The real test for this game will soon be here. End of year games will be releasing soon. If huge changes are not made the console gamer will simply buy a different game. If they think they are working hard enough to keep console gamers to stay on one game they are very wrong. All that being said love the game play every night for 4 or 5 hours with friends I just know we will leave to the next big game with out numerous fixes

1 ReplyButthurt?

I must admit that I get my PVP kicks from TLOU factions. It suits me better , although Destiny Mp is okay. I too am a little weary of being herded towards the Crucible. Destiny creates a wonderful illusion , I will say that.
-
3 RepliesI enjoy the pvp but I do agree that there should be a set for PvE and PvP so that players can choose how to play.
-
Agreed 100%. Their messaging distinctly said "play your way", but I've been incredibly disappointed by the fact that I keep getting strong-armed into PvP. I picked an Exotic Weapon Bounty based on its PvE requirement, and lo and behold, it requires PvP shortly after that. Bounty abandoned. I'm terrible at PvP, but I don't intend to "practice to get better" simply because I don't enjoy my time spent attempting PvP. That is not my gameplay genre of choice. Don't try to force me to play it, because you'll lose that battle with me devoting my time and my money to a different game that truly does allow me to play to a style I prefer. So if this is a recurring trend, you can safely expect me to shelve this game by the end of the month.
-
Yep the more they lean on pvp the less i play. Ill be burned out repeating same pve strikes in a month

Edited by TEHordak: 9/25/2014 2:23:48 PMI'm just plain crap at pvp & dont understand most of this game full stop.Having said that I still love it . better than just getting my ass kicked for fun on Cod lol .Peace everyone .Blessed are the game makers who sunk so much dollar into this game. EDIT. I am noob so dont understand most of the discussion here my apologies

Ye man totaly agree Im level 25 titan ive never played the cruicable and have NO INTERSEST IN IT!!! so I finaly get a bounty for an exsoitc item. Trilled over the moon. Then I find out I have to play the cruicable to unlock the damd thing. Totaly unfair I havent played a single cruicable game why do thet try to ram it down my throat all the time!!!
-
8 RepliesThey should just make all contracts have alternate ways to finish them. You could headshot 200 fallen, OR you could head shot 20 players. That way the people that are doing pvp anyways will get it just as fast as the people who don't like to play pvp and choose to go pve to finish it.
-
2 RepliesIt is frustrating, I don't like PvP simply because I am terrible at it. I have played many PvP games and have never got above being average. Its nice to have it as an alternative to play, but having all the factions requiring cruicible marks to get the gear is very frustrating, especially as I do a number of missions for each factions on the planets.
-
I agree 100%
-
I'm with you. I don't like how they try and force us to play PvP. There's a lot of people who don't want anything to do with it.
-
1 Replythere should be an option to trade out the pvp step of exotic bounties for extra pve steps to make us pve people happier
-
9 RepliesI agree 100%. There should be a path to complete exotic bounties without going through an impossible PvP mission. I had to abandon my 1 exotic bounty after the first step because the second step involved a PvP mission which I knew I could never complete (something like a 25-1 kill ratio). Now I know the awesome PvP players may not agree, and more power to them, but PvP is no fun for me, I should not have to play that part since the whole point is to enjoy the gaming experience.
-
I really hope this game is more PvE focused. Is there anyway for us to help get it there
