Where did all those years and all the money go? The entire bases of the game is grinding the same shit over and over. And don't give me that "but Tyger hev u evr pleyed mmo?"
This isn't a -blam!-ing mmo. I can only play with 2 of my friends, except in 1 mission. The game isn't social at all and there's no true player interaction.
The "legendary" gear is the same shit reskinned over and over
The "events are a joke" it's just an excuse for them to send us to kill the same enemy for the 3,000th time.
The PvP is a joke. It has less content than halo 3's multiplayer and halo 3's campaign was longer
Public events are a joke, there's only like 3 variations and it's usually 2 or 3 people.
There's no reason to "explore" other than to get the same shitty bounties and get 1000 -blam!-ing resources so you can upgrade your armor.
Every boss fight (bar the raid) has no mechanic at all other than shoot them for a half an hour to take away their massive health pools
All guns look the same, even "exotics" look nearly identical.
The game has disk locked content (areas accessible in the beta and full game that aren't playable full game) so you've essentially been tricked into buying a partial game. The "expansion packs" will just unlock on disk content. Other content like game modes are "events"
Every NPC is a glorified vendor
No lore is in game
Every mission structure is the exact same bar a few gems like the sword mission
The dialog and writing... Oh my god
The character creation and customization is extremely limited
I'm sure there's more. Accept that the game is half assed and maybe bungie will fix it. Don't worship them for a mediocre game. There's a reason this game has shitty reviews. If the community lets bungie know the game isn't good, maybe they'll fix it or actually give us the living and expanding world we were promised without having to shell out more money on a half baked scam.

51 RepliesEdited by CEO: 9/24/2014 11:18:47 PMThere is no plot tying those missions together, it's as simple as that. The game's "plot": "You're alive even though you were death, you must have so many questions, we will not answer a single one, not even try or start, so let's do stuff. Why? Because we light and they darkness. Warmind Rasputin. What did you say? Nevermind. Let's go to the moon. Oh someone called us from Venus, that's neat, that call must have been expensive, let's go there. Finally someone will tell me something... ah ah just kidding. "Darkness". Mars: during the collapse the vex pretty much turned it into a machine. What? Nevermind that. Rasputin again. What are you talking about? Let's go to the black garden. Why? Because a stranger told us. Let's ask for directions to some rude condescending people. In the black garden: oh look a big blob surrounded by vex. What is it? What is it doing? Why is it doing it? How is it doing it? How do we even know it is affecting us? Does it matter? Shooting the robots will undoubtedly solve everything that is wrong with our high tech mini moon that seems to be sick for some reason. (Personally I think it needs a hug and a night light to be less afraid of the dark) Literally the moment we destroy the blob by killing its guards (because logic): oh look our mini moon back on earth seems to be better already, that was fast, everyone seems to have noticed and the speaker that doesn't say anything useful is already calling us back to hear a speech that also doesn't say anything and makes him sound like the leader of a cult. Well ok... The stranger robot that for some reason has boobs: "you and I know the truth, the darkness it still out there". Well it better be because so far this game really needs a plot to go with the setting and universe (that actually sounds really interesting and full of potential). The end. For the actual plot stay tuned for the expansions. This is not a plot it's just a series of unfortunate events lol Want more of the game you literally just bought? Here play the same missions on higher difficulty (like you couldn't do that already) and a few "queen bounties" and differently coloured weapons. Everyone: hey "free" "content", for the half game we bought to keep us busy until enough time passes that they can start selling us expansions that start telling the actual story. Destiny 1.0 feels like a rushed pilot episode of a TV series that will have many seasons, or the prologue of the first book in a series of several books. I thought there would be more I admit it, even the first halo game more than a decade ago told us more: we had just landed on a massive unknown ring in space after being attacked by the covenant, our enemy we were at war with. Eventually we found out what the ring was, why is was built, why the covenant were interested in it, what it would do if it was activated and why and how to stop it and that there were many others "facilities" like it. That set the tone, it had its own satisfying self contained plot that left plenty of room for a lot more than 10 years. I wish destiny 1.0 felt like that, I would be begging for DLC and the "10 years plan" because I would want to know more and see what was coming next and not because I feel there's potential, and it's bungie, and also, I want to know what the hell I just did and why. It would have felt very different even it the amount of missions etc was exactly the same. This game made my guardian just feel like grunt taking orders without knowing why. That would have been a great start for a franchise with such great ambitions. This is just "meh, it will be amazing eventually, maybe, hopefully". So far bungie's reputation and activision's marketing dollars are this game greatest "achievements". about "the plot is in the grimoire" comments. The grimoire doesn't have the plot, it has a few descriptions, curiosities, background info, like every single other sci-fi game has except this one is not in the game. The grimoire is like a small encyclopedia. I hear an encyclopedia is very different from a novel.

Edited by Final fantasy: 10/9/2014 11:06:01 PMDestiny is well designed. beautiful, detailed graphics and the gameplay is awesome but short in content and very repetitive.

2 RepliesEdited by Ez: 9/24/2014 11:46:45 PMThe irony is that, while everything the OP said (and everything CEO later commented) are absolutely true, I am having a blast playing this game. The "story" is something which a third grader could've put together during recess (it makes that much sense). The maps, while beautiful, are nothing more than pretty wrapping. The "social" fps is hardly social. "Progressing" is playing the same maps with the same mobs - they don't even try to to disguise it. Yet I can't stop. playing. it. WTF????

Dude. I love this game. Maybe because I have friends that laugh and play with me and the grinding of armor and upgrades gives me things to do. Pvp is pvp it's supposed to be the same stuff. You can't really do much except add vehicles and that makes pvp stupid. They could add competitive or ranking which would be cool. They could add a horse mode where you fight of continues waves of Cabal,Vex,Fallen, ect and updates are coming people are crying about lack of content and I have 2.5 days played and I still have a shit ton to do. Yall need to realize the game has been out 3 weeks and only had 1 year to be made. Quit complaining if you really hate the game take it back. Quit crying on the forums. If your gonna say anything in the forums give ideas on how to make it better don't cry. -Apoc

2 RepliesEdited by Klushots: 10/5/2014 6:56:36 PMIt would seem you enjoy the game regardless of your complaints, though... Otherwise why would you have played it just this past Friday with your level 27 Warlock?

1 ReplyIf this is the most lazy game you've ever played, I envy you.
-
1 ReplyYour point is?

1 ReplyDon't worry, there will be plenty of complete games for people to enjoy before Bungie releases their pathetic DLC.
-
6 RepliesI enjoy destiny and bungie had admitted that they are fixing things. So instead of crying just sell it so we can thin down the competition. Kthxbye
-
This is a new kind of game, dude. It's like paying full price for "early access", except in Destiny's case, you have to keep paying for the DLC to make it a full game.
-
And there will still be fanboys flocking to "defend" this game.
-
2 RepliesDestiny is the most over-hyped and disappointing game since Brink.
-
This is all actually true but some people are blinded by their fanboyish tendencies. I love bungie and was excited for destiny. But it ended up be a huge letdown. Everyone is quick to defend it. But it's true.

9 RepliesIt was made for the simple minded CoD crowd that asks NOTHING else but to point and shoot. Dudebros as they're called. Those f*cks don't even understand what a good story is. You put them in a room filled with copy/pasted enemies and they'll enjoy it if it has kill streaks...................

You must not have played many Flash games.

5 RepliesThey obviously spent years on getting the core mechanics of the game just right. The classes are all pretty balanced. The guns all feel unique when shooting them and all feel "right." The different aliens look, feel, and react completely differently. Everything in the whole game looks absolutely beautiful. And extremely unique to me is that I have not once wanted to turn the sound down. The soundtrack to this game is perfect. (Well I have been tempted to turn it down a few times when I know one of Tyrion ' s more glaringly awful lines is coming up.) It feels like they spent years getting everything perfect. Then when all that was left was the story, menu's, voicechat, and all the other parts of an actual game they kind of decided to just get some pizza and beer and finish all of that stuff in one weekend. It's jarring how you can tell they cared so much about getting everything under the surface perfect, but don't seem to give 2 shits about the final released game.

5 RepliesYou're averaging roughly 25 hours/week playing the friggin game. It can't be that bad...

-
Yeah I haven't played much in the last few days, shadow of Mordor has a better story.
-
3 RepliesGood job you stopped playing now, otherwise you would look like a total bellend! Oh no wait...
-
1 ReplyIt's sad that this thread is even more relevant 3 weeks later.

I could have wrote a better story than this, heck no exaggeration any gamer could have wrote a better story than this but this is Activision we are talking about so Bungie is just taking it in the rear.
