Bad Juju the less effective Stranger's Rifle?
I've seen a few topics calling Bad Juju a crap exotic, after getting it I can somewhat see why this gun is nice in aesthetics but its stats are so lack luster and its upgrades are okay but would be a lot better if its base stats were higher, don't get me wrong I don't hate this gun I love it for PvE but in terms of PvP this gun gets beat out by the Stranger's Rifle in every stat other than fire rate which is actually just slightly ahead(The Black Suros SWB-42 also beats Bad Juju). I'd hope in time maybe this gun could get a buff so its more usable (Its okay, but certainly not great). I'm gonna stop with the whine for a bit and move onto this guns issues.
1. The overall stats are worse than a level 16 rare... even with the upgrades minus it's main perk this gun is ultimately beat by the Stranger's Rifle.
2. The hip fire upgrade bonus. Why?! there is almost zero use for this. (does anyone actually hip fire in this game?)
3. Why does a gun that gets an instant reload perk have such a high base reload stat? If anything you would thing this guns reload would be crap until you got the perk which at this point I'd be fine with that.
4. Magazine size, for a pulse rifle 15 feels a bit small only 5 trigger pulls before reload and its not like this gun has a high impact so why wouldn't the mag be larger to compensate for that?
5. The range, I can somewhat understand I mean I guess Bungie wanted this gun to be a true CQC pulse rifle but its not that great at that outside of PvE the could have given it a better mid range quality imo.
6. Finally we have the upgrades nothing on it really sucks but a nice juicy upgrade to impact would have been great instead there is an impact penalty on this weapon which really just made me say what in the actual -blam!- Bungie and then armor piercing rounds doesn't offer a "big enough" impact bonus to make it better than Send it or Perfect balance(for pvp anyway).
That pretty much sums up my rant for this gun if you want to call it that, I love this weapon even though its not the greatest I still use it even if I suck total ass with it in PvP, it's my first exotic weapon after all so I wouldn't just abandon it but I'd really hope as I said before to see this gun get a size-able buff atleast to where its stats stand above the Stranger's Rifle(my 2nd favorite pulse rifle in this game so far) and hell this is just an early analyses of the gun I haven't fully unlocked its tree so I could be wrong and if I am well that's on me but I'll max it out and see how it does.
I'd like to hear what fellow Bad Juju owners think about this little demon of a pulse rifle.

I upgraded the gun already and have the armor piercing rounds for PvP. I've used it as my primary weapon for a while now and learned to use it and when not to. This gun sucks unless there are open areas. Examples: it sucks in burning shine, twilight gap, etc. Counter examples: its good in rusted lands, bastion, first light and such. The gun is most effective whenever people cant run away from you. I know this from experience. Then, after your first kill, if you manage to go on a 4 streak, you will start dominating. Just my experience.

1 ReplyIt sucks. So does the Thorn. I have both, and shoot neither. Everyone has to keep in mind that these are entry level exotics. The best ones are found or earned.

Man, I took this bounty yesterday. However, I'm not discouraged by the bad reviews because I looked at reviews for just about every gun I got the option of taking the exotic bounty for and people were complaining in the same manner about EVERY SINGLE ONE. Therefore, according to everyone, you're going to get a crap gun no matter what route you go. Either every one of them are legitimately garbage or people are not learning how to tap into their real potential.

6 RepliesIt does void damage though, which can be VERY good to have in a main weapon slot when are doing doing things like, say, the nightfall mission, where void burn is active. It has its place, maybe PvP just isn't it.

1 ReplyIf that weapon would be better everyone would be complaining that is op i use it and you have 5 chances to kill something if you don't do it then you have to reload that's why it has a tiny magazine and for pvp aim to the head it's just practice

8 RepliesEdited by axishunter5: 9/22/2014 6:50:32 AMYeah it does seem kinda meh to me too, and I've finally gotten the string of curses bonus unlocked. This is the only thing that makes it interesting. The high RoF, instant reload, and full auto feature mean you can just hold down the trigger and blow away hordes of enemies, but this isn't really all that great when you put it in perspective. If you want a gun to suppress groups of hive or something like that, an auto rifle would be much better. This gun also chews through ammo when used this way, which doesn't work all that great because it doesn't have that much more reserve ammo capacity than any other pulse rifle. At the end of the day it's a pulse rifle that has aspirations of being an auto rifle, and isn't very successful as you can imagine. It needs a buff to impact, or something in place of the full auto feature to make up for the mostly lackluster stats compared to its exotic siblings.... it sure is cool looking though.

All these things (upgrades etc) are going to make an impact during the Iron Banner. It also has a lot to do with play style. I got Universal Remote (shot gun as primary) I couldn't stand it at first until I upgraded it. It's no joke what the lil saying about it represents. It is a beast in PvP

But people keep assuring me its great when you max it out I don't think I believe that yet, during a boss fight if you don't get kills the instant reload doesn't take effect and that weapon reloads more times than I get to shoot, Forget killing enemies at close range when they all rush you

With a 30 round mag it would be ok. BUT: this thing is a beast when it comes to farming patrol missions etc. Every enemy (in PvE) that is dead in 1-5 bursts is perfect for this gun. You kill the enemy, your magazine is full again. Great for farming but useless for stronger enemies (epics, bosses etc) EDIT: I was told the dmg boost you get after a kill is like 50% which would be nice. I use the gun because I want to like it but its not really more than a farm-without-reload-gun
