I finish top 3 for my team basically every crucible. Every now and then I dominate, and have been owned a few times too. The loot reward system is fine. It's just an added bonus thing which generates excitement. I get more annoyed when my team narrowly loses because some tool wanted to sit back and camp/snipe for their kdr, rather then capture or defend a control point. That costs me a mark and rep, which is what I want in the long run to buy stuff from crucible quarter master etc. I honestly don't see the completely random reward system being an issue.
