Bungie, as much as I like Destiny there is simply no way it will last as long as you want it to. The reason being is because there is no community, no custom made maps, no "forge, " and there is a lack of communication. These are some of the key elements that made Halo such a huge success. The next few updates should have to have a huge impact on the community if you really want it to be a success

I only wish I and others like me could play the game as fully as the good folks who have commented here thus far. Bungie has obviously designed this game for (in relation to XBox) for the XBox One and not the 360. Although some using 360 can play, it appears those of us that have the 360 Original are extremely limited in gameplay. We cannot participate in crucible, daily matches or other high level missions UNLESS we want to go it alone. No, it is not my NAT, as a matter a fact it is not by connection in any way. I spent several hours with a tech from my ISP yesterday and he and others he collaborated with determined it IS the console and nothing more. And before you say it. I cannot afford a new machine. Even though Halo 5 will also be unavailable to those us with 360's, I am going back to Halo where I know my gameplay will not be impeded with limitations on solo games only. IF you want us to buy more games geared only to new and expensive consoles. GIVE THEM TO US! Okay crybabies, go for it.

I don't get it. Why don't people just name THEIR Ghost, because calling him " ghost" is dumb. I like to call my ghost Steve, because why not? I haven't met anyone that calls their ghost anything but "ghost". I just think calling him that is a little demeaning.

Two weeks in and I'm already bored. After release, when I heard that this game was getting some harsh reviews, I could not understand why - not for the life of me. Destiny was too much fun! All I kept thinking is, "Man, if the game really begins at 20, and I'm having this much fun at 10, I can't wait to get there!" Boy, was I a victim of all the hype. The second you get to level 20 it's: "Do it all over again! Go kill more Covenant, Flood, Brutes, and Sentinels... or rather, Fallen, Hive, Cabal, and Vex but on a harder difficulty; if you're bored or capped, go farming." I seriously sat on my home screen for like 20 minutes today debating on whether I wanted to go engram farming or play Pure Chess. Reluctantly, I convinced myself to try to find a silver lining in a game that I just paid for, and proceeded to start grinding away in Destiny - all for nothing yet again. All Destiny (outside of the Crucible) is after level 20 is gambling or chores. The difference is that I usually win more at the casino than I do at the Cryptarch, and I feel more of a sense of fulfillment doing chores around my house than I do in game. I don't understand how this opinion is considered unwarranted "entitlement" by all the white knights either. Gee... God forbid anyone expects to actually enjoy playing a game they paid for nowadays. At this point I've lost all interest in anything but PvP, which renders Destiny nothing more to me than Halo with super moves and less game types. Now I understand all the negative reviews; it's just no fun. Congratulations, Bungie. You got my $90 and my attention for a few weeks. This was a bigger let down than Elder Scrolls Online. Back to Mario Kart 8 for me. See you in 10 years.

I am enjoying Destiny as much as anyone else, but there are still things missing. Not saying this is a 100% accurate review... don't know if there is actually such a thing, however there are many valid points included. Have a watch if you haven't seen this already

I am loving this game but Bungie needs to be more vocal about what their plans are and if these End Game issues are temporary. I have the feeling that Bungie had a lot more content for release then activision stepped in and cut it up and sold it to us in slices rather than the whole pizza. Which is obvious when you walk around the tower. I know they have a 10 year scope for this project. Activision is catching up to EA when it comes to bad business practices it's sad to see this happen more and more frequently in the gaming scene I remember back in the day a game was polished before release none of this "We will fix it with patches" All the previous said I still am a fan of this game and will be playing for some time. This was more a statement on lousy buisness practice from the Publishers and Bungies vision being held back.

The games media has seemed to have recently just discovered the famed “loot cave” in Destiny, a way to get gear in the game that’s been around for quite a while, but has quickly become far and away the game’s most popular avenue to acquire items. In short, it’s the definition of shooting fish in a barrel. Players travel to a specific point past the Cosmodrome in Old Russia, find a cluster of 3-5 other players shooting blindly into a cave across the map, and join them. They reap the rewards from a cluster of infinitely respawning enemies who resurrect themselves seconds after death, dropping loot at an alarming rate. The loot cave is not an exploit. It’s not a bug. But it is a perfect metaphor for everything wrong with Destiny’s endgame right now, and showcases some very real problems with the game. loot cave2 Right now, the cave is the absolute best way to find rare and legendary item drops based on how the game doles out loot. Items drop based on how many enemies you kill, not how tough the enemies are. In other words, it seems as if a level 24 yellow-armored Ogre has the same chance as dropping a good item as a level 5 dead-in-one-hit thrall with a two second lifespan in the loot cave. As such, players want to find a way to kill the most enemies in the least amount of time possible, and out of the many respawn-camping areas in the game, the loot cave is easily the best. It’s why you’ll find a host of level 20-27 players sitting at that spot at all times in the game’s patrol mode. But wait, shouldn’t they be out completing epic Strikes and Raids? Getting new gear and having a “great story to tell” about each piece? Right now, a great many gear stories in Destiny stem from the loot cave. Too many, judging by how obscenely popular the spot is. Without a doubt, this specific area will patched at some point, though after that, players will undoubtedly find another like it, and another after that. But before that happens, it serves to showcase that Bungie needs to really rethink their reward system and endgame play. Ideally, a level 20 to 26 player should be using the Strike matchmaking playlist to get new gear. The challenging Strikes require cooperation between three members of a fireteam and have guaranteed gear rewards at the end, after all. Far more interesting than shooting into a cave eternally, right? Yes, but it isn’t efficient. And in a game that focuses so heavily on grinding for gear, efficiency is everything. A Strike can last anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour, depending on the skill level of your team and how often you die and have to restart instances. You’ll usually be rewarded with 1-3 pieces of rare gear, and a handful of green uncommon items. loot cave1 But spend that time in the loot cave? Though item drops are random, if you forgo a Strike for the cave, you’ll probably see five times the number of rare and uncommon drops, and perhaps even a few legendaries to boot. The same can be said of the game’s famed level 26 Raid, what high level players are supposed to be doing to acquire new and amazing gear. If that’s the case, then why do I see so many level 26+ players at the repetitive loot cave when they should be taking on the most challenging, diverse content the game has to offer? Right now the Raid is essentially a wall for many players who don’t want to go through the trouble to assemble a group of five friends or strangers to try and attempt the challenge. Even if they are the proper level for the activity, the Raid is either too daunting from an organizational or a difficulty perspective, whereas the loot cave is a two minute drive and an endless fountain of gear. It’s weird to see one area perfectly sum up so many problems with the game. To recap: - Gear drops should be skewed toward harder enemies giving out better gear - End game activities need better rewards for how challenging/time-consuming they are - The Raid needs to be reworked into something the other 95% of the player base can/want to actually play - Gear grinding alone should not be the only measure of progression after the level 20 cap The obvious solution is to simply patch the loot cave, and disperse the crowd gathered there by upping the time it takes for enemies to reappear. And yet, players will continue to find exploit after exploit if all the above issues remain in the game. I’ve heard Destiny described as “purgatory” from levels 20-28, and I think that’s a pretty accurate label. The loot cave really does feel like a giant waiting room as you sit there hoping for that one piece of gear to drop that will propel you to the next level. It’s the worst way to play the game by far, but it’s also the most rewarding. And right now it sums up all of Destiny’s biggest problems.

Updates need to seriously be rethought. Doing them mid day while people are playing makes no sense. To Bungie, you need to plan better and do updates when most people aren't playing.

Why am i not able to play but my buddies are. The game has fine for me since release but for the past few days it's almost impossible to play and now it won't even let me play what's going on...

So why is that the armor for all off the faction never seem to line up with one another? As in for the New monarch the leggs Grant you extra ammo space for shotguns and pistols or fusion and pulse but the arms make you reload auto rifles faster or scout rifles. This makes no sense, please fix it or advise.
