Bungie's Stance on the Loot Cave?
I think it's time we had an official response on how Bungie feels about this.
Half the community does it, the other half says it's exploiting and some of them even sit in the cave to prevent spawns.
Within an hour Bungie took coins off of the exotic vendor, which tells me they act incredibly fast in regards to things they feel are exploits. Without an official stance to set the standard for later methods I'm inclined to think it's OK with them.

Wanted to add a update lmao yesterday at the loot cave the hot fix fixed the spawn rate so I happened to be in the area waiting for the public event so I figured I would benefit from the new long as spawn rate loot cave and kill some Time and this idiot goes in and sits in the cave. Prolly didn't even read the hot fix just made my day the public event was skipped for whatever reason and I moved on but they are still boycotting the cave even after the fix lmao. WAST YOUR GAME TIME I LOVE IT. I get stronger and your still noobs

People are focused on the cave. There are plenty of other areas just like this one. Anyone who has played a strike mission or any mission for that matter more than once are farming just as hard as the people at the cave. When you spawn in on the patrol mission your ghosts says from here you can do what you want.

13 RepliesWhen you have a loot system that is nowhere near based on the enemies level/difficulty and based specifically on your OWN; this is what you get. Bungie created a game where lvl 5 thrall carry the same loot as a level 28 heroic ogre. Why kill difficult enemies when you can kill easy ones faster, more efficiently, and get the SAME loot? People are getting butthurt, but they fail to see how absolutely senseless the loot system is. Make it so that low level enemies drop low level loot, high level enemies drop better loot, and enemies from difficult strikes drop the BEST loot and watch how this all goes away. But no. You're all mad at them for finding gear in the most rational way possible.

I don't see how they could be opposed to it. They made a spot where monsters spawn fast. They gave the game a rng loot mechanic. I fail to see how this is not "earning gear" or "cheating."

Not to mention the rewards aren't great. You'd get more stuff faster by doing strike playlists and even story missions. The problem is NOT with the cave itself. It's with the loot system that Bungie has made.

All legendary and rare engrams will be sent to your post office ;) ( thats called: Lost items, the post offices gives your legendary and rare engrams if you did forgot to pick them up )

4 RepliesPeople act like engrams are the only way to get purples. You are aware that if you spent that farming time enjoying crucible or strike missions you'd be earning currency used to buy purple gear. Not engrams - actual guaranteed purple gear made for your class.

This cave created so much stir, they are definitely going to fix it because if they did the farmers would only be bummed and on to the next. While the ppl being butt hurt about the situation will keep complaining and bring attention to it. My opinion. Idgaf, farmed that shit for 4hrs got zero legendary engrams.

8 RepliesHow to properly farm the loot cave: 1. Find a bunch of bums shooting into it 2. Stand afk next to all of them 3. Watch netflix. 4. run in and loot every so often. footnotes: make sure you move around every 5 minutes or so as to avoid getting logged out check your screen at :00 and :30 of every hour. the warsat will fall down and flatten you. you may take some physical abuse from some of the farmers meleeing you in the face. chin up and stand tall.

I've given up on farming. Bungie -blam!-ed us all with their RNG. Every time I get a purple engram, it ends up as rare. Stupid ass decision to make it that way if you ask me. [spoiler]So I just do bounties now[/spoiler]

15 RepliesEat a bag of dicks. I have not done it, but after 8 purple engrams and not one purple item I am seriously considering it as I am getting -blam!-ed off with the RNG. I am Lvl 25 stuck with blue Lvl 20 weapons and armour until I can grind out enough emblems to purchase a half decent weapons and armour. I need one more strange coin to get an exotic piece if armour so then MAYBE I can start doing nightfall stuff and raids and MAYBE get better gear. But my luck is shit. So caves here I come!

2 RepliesFarming spota like this cave is the only way to get some usefull gear... Ive done 25 strikes for bad juju on 1 day... And i didnt see any purple engramm in these 25 strikes... Even no good reward... Doing strikes only for vanguard marks atm

Well I honestly feel like the system was set up for something like this, I mean it's a three roll system, gotta roll for engram rarity, then a second roll for item rarity, then if legendary a third roll for class. It's a hard system to exploit even with the amount of loot you can get from that cave. 95% are greens, like 4% blues and maybe 1% legendaries and of those legendaries maybe 10-15% actually turn out to be legendary items. I usually farm it for about 15 minutes a day to stock up on weapons parts and plasteel plating.

It's not really 'exploiting'. They placed the spawn in the cave and some people figured out on where to stand for them to keep re-spawning and running out. Honestly it's not doing harm most people who get a legendary engram end up with a blue item. I have no issues with it & if Bungie figure a way to stop this, good on them!

Maybe if Bungie made bosses have a greater chance (or any chance) of dropping better loot than low level mobs people would play strikes more. Maybe if...................oh you get the point.
