Move the Tower's lounge bar to a better location?

There's a really neat lounge bar hidden in the Tower, which I assumed was added to the Tower because Bungie was expecting players to go there to hang out. It's on the upper right corner of the map. It's passed the Ship vendor NPC. But no one ever hangs out there. :( Why? It's such a neat place, and anyone that's played MMORPGs with a bar or lounge will know that those kind of locations are the best places for players to hang out, talk and meet new people. But I have a feeling the reason why no one hangs out around Destiny's lounge area is either because: A) People didn't know there is one because it's located in a hidden spot that no one ever sees B) People know about it, but it's too far away and tucked in a hidden corner of the tower that they would rather just hang around the courtyard. How about moving it in a better spot? Like closer to the courtyard? In case you're wondering what MMORPGs have a social meeting place bar/lounge area, here's two of them: Star Wars Galaxies (No not the newer SWTOR). Coronet City's Cantina. This city's Cantina was placed at such a great spot! It's in the same area as the shuttle building! Many SWG players hanged out there to socialize. They could of picked any other cantina on any other planet or city, but they all chose Coronet because as soon as you exit the shuttle, all you have to do is run forward for a couple yards and you're at the Cantina's entrance! Then there's Goldshire Inn in World of Warcraft. Why has this Inn become one of the most popular hangouts in the game, especially for the Moon Guard server? (Just google up: "Goldshire Inn Moon Guard" and you'll see what I mean) It's because it's in the middle of both the human race starter zone (the most popular race in WoW) and Stormwind (the most populated alliance city in WoW). High level players and low level players all meet up in the middle at Goldshire to hang out, duel, RP and all kinds of other things. But in Destiny, as of right now, the courtyard seems to be the "hangout" area. It's not a bad place with it's open sky and beautiful view of the Traveller, but wouldn't the lounge bar be a more appropriate area for guardians to hang out?

  • This would be good if you could sit down. I mean it isn't like there wouldn't be enough room the most people I've seen in the Tower at once was probably ten people. Having bars and shops and actual civilian type place on the main plaza would make the game feel so much more alive if nothing else. I mean sitting down and chilling out isn't much use to anyone if there is no in game chat really.

    • I completely agree. There are three doorways on the left of the courtyard I think one of those would work well. Also I think max occupancy of the tower is 16. When I look at the roster in the start menu it says #/16.

    • That's because despite being a MMOFPS, it's not a social game yet due to the blatant lack of communication options. Maybe their still working out the tech for voice chat? Honestly there's a lot of parallels to Destiny in the more obscure MMO 3rd perosn shooter game Defiance.

    • The Bar area should be in place of the Cryptarch

      • Maybe no one hangs out there because YOU CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE IN THE TOWER. beatingdeadhorse.gif

Is it a lounge? It seems to be a clan area or some salesman. If you look there are weapons and Hunter gear all over aswell as enemy relics and gear.

            • Pretty sure that place was in the beta. Regardless I've actually seen some players there. A specific group actually sitting among the furniture and all. Still, the place mainly lies in obscurity.

            • I think it's because there is no way to easily communicate in-game with other people, other than obscure gesturing.
