So, I'm loving the game but every time I go to the moon and the movement and jump capabilities are identical to earth or an earth sized mass, it throws me. Anyone else?

You must also hate that the atmospheric pressure on Venus doesn't crush you to death.

1 ReplyMaybe the hive presence or the traveler had an impact on the natural balance of the moon. I mean the traveler did make Venus and mercury into paradise planets, he could at the very least make the moon a little more habitable for human life. Low gravity causes negative side effects on the human body, that's why astronauts have a 6 month to a year physical therapy session after a stay on the international space station. So if the moon had a 1.0g rating there would be no side effects besides no oxygen. This is the same reason why the cabal wear pressurized suits to duplicate the heavy gravity of their homeworld. They would lose bone density and mass.

2 RepliesEdited by Xyyth: 9/18/2014 1:06:55 PMThey will fix it with DLC. Wait until you sink into the mud pits of Uranus.

Honestly speaking my heart did sink a little when I didn't moon jump... I mean yeah warlock already basically does moon jump but I like moon jumps and I wanted to moon jump while I moon jumped.
-
I mean, this is a fantasy sci-fi game, so...
-
Also, the flag at the spawn point blows in the wind. Wait. THERE ISNT ANY WIND ON THE MOON.
-
I don't find the lack of moon gravity on the moon any more jarring than the presence of moon gravity on Earth and Venus. It seems totally fine on Mars, though. John Carter said so.
So, I'm loving the game but every time I go to the moon and the movement and jump capabilities are identical to earth or an earth sized mass, it throws me. Anyone else?
It was colonized. That would be why it has the same gravity....
-
One you haven't played destiny two the traveler terra formed the planets and moons to earth like
-
get a warlock upgrade glide jump your ass off go play in traffic
-
Low gravity would be really annoying after a while
-
2 RepliesWell would you rather jump and take 10-15 seconds just to touch the ground again. that would get annoying
-
1 ReplyThe light normalizes your gravity

So there is the Giant freakin ball called the traveller sitting just above the earth. That thing is genuinely huge, but there he is just hangin. Douglas adams said it best in HHGTTG: Hanging in the air exactly the way bricks don't. So, maybe, just maybe this big ole ball knows a thing or two about how gravity goes down, what actually it actually is, and how to screw with it. Read more sci fi. Messing with every single physical parameter know to man is what they do. If warp drives don't mess with your immersion, altered gravitation on the moon should be okay for you to.
-
I don't mind it but I do feel it's a missed opportunity for some sweet gameplay.
-
5 Repliesthe hive have gravity generators underneath the surface so they may dig and tunnel efficiently without tons of dust and rock floating around. plus without gravity they probably couldnt survive or hold an atmosphere. you really thing that little cloak is gonna save you from the cold in space? or the sun's radiation?
-
Either way its stupid and a dumb way bungie stated they didnt want to do extra work
-
Moon is colonized it has gravity generators >:D
-
A game where a character can throw singularities from his/her fingertips, better complain the moon isn't realistic.
-
Not me...but the lack of super concentrated acid rain on Venus totally ruins everything for me...
-
"Cuz the Traveller.."
-
If that was the case all the planets etc would have their own gravitational pull on us. Probably too much of an issue for the game to handle.
-
Yes. Bungie had so much potential to make the moon one of the funniest levels. Yet they decided to cut corners and use "the traveler terraformed the moon" as a cover.
-
The traveler made the atmosphere different... Your question is like... Does the fact that you don't burn to a crisp on Venus kill the immersion? Again the traveler changed all this.
