Destiny is like defiance (defiance is closer to an mmo than destiny) period. Destiny is a multi player online game. It is not massive period. It takes $$$ to run servers for an mmo, you guys are paying not paying that kind of money to demand mmo style game play. Bungie has no experience with this style of game and I expected them to fail, which they did for all intents and purposes, but I still enjoy the game.

So far this resembles my usual MMO experience.

As far as..? Yes you're online and playing with other people. But it's all instanced and not massive. I have yet to be anywhere other than the tower with more than 12 people. And the only time I am with 12 people is when I am in the crucible.

Edited by Velesfray: 9/16/2014 7:49:59 PMYup, that is my mmo experience. Only changed when Gw2 did that server merge feature. Oh yah and if you got no guild or friends online you just farm away in silence on some back end map.

Guild wars... great example of mmo game play. :p

Eh point is you can't expect a hybrid game like Destiny to offer experiences in its first week that take months to get to in mmo games.

Destiny will never be a massive multi - player online game (mmo). Unless Bungie starts having dedicated servers which will require a subscription fee. If that happens the majority of you guys will not play because the majority are not mmo players. I am talking battles of 100+ players or 50 player raids... it will never happen. Granted you are correct that you can't judge the content of games in their infancy, but Destiny will never be a true mmo unless Bungie forks over independent dedicated servers and the staff to maintain them. Like every other mmo out there.

That is true, so let's not compare it to one. 😄
