Heres the thing. Destiny for all of its grandeur and boasting, feels very small. The campaign is...there? Ive finished it and i honestly cant tell you what its really about. The music (especially the electronica stuff at the end) is the most annoying thing i have heard (and im sorry because im going to tick a lot of people off with this but its my opinion) since halo. I have enormous respect for the work the composer does and did with halo/this, and its something that sadly is a dying breed in gaming, but i cannot stand his particular style. The decision to make fireteams 3, but raids 6 was an interesting one, but considering of the 10 or so actual friends i game with, only once have i had more than 3 on at the same time. Raids requiring friends, no matchmaking, and supposedly cannot be done in an average sitting? Thank you bungie. From my heart of hearts thank you. I dont have 6 friends on at the same time, ever, but guess im going to have to figure something out. Vanguard marks brutal to grind for? Again, thank you. Raiding gear should be brutal, lengthy, and should take months to acquire. I could go on but i will end with this. Destiny is a great start. A very promising beginning to what could be something special. It has a lot of issues, and it needs a form of communication other than pointing/waving/dancing for finding new people to play with, an in game guild/clan creator, lfg chat with keyboard support, some form of legit economy and trading. These are not gamebreakers, they can be fixed down the road. Bungie caught lightning in a bottle with halo, i never enjoyed it myself, but have a very healthy respect for what it did for console gaming and the xbox actually, catching lightning twice, with 2 ips is a very very rare talent, and destiny may not be that yet, but all the pieces are certainly there.
