Ughhh...I wish I could join, but I'm a gamer mom! ;)
Where's Moms of Destiny!?!?
Add me if you want an over-enthused female Warlock to late-night game with.

Another group like DoD does exist for mothers. It's called Dames Of Destiny.
-
Ha Ive seen you in the game. Pretty sure you kicked my ass in the crucible several times. Anyways Im on pretty much everyday 11-3. Weekends in the mornings. I work nights so invite anytime if your available. Ill go Raid with ya.

Hey Doom! Even though the Dads of Destiny is a group for fathers, we are very engaged and committed to helping all mature members find a place to call home. The Dames of Destiny and their side project Safegamers are both great options. Feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to get you more info and get you introduced if you'd like me to. (I'm just realizing you posted in September, so if this is all old information, I hope you found somewhere you are happy!)

I gave a serious side-eye to the gendered community focus. But I also don't really want to hang out with a "moms only" community. I don't feel like being a mom is my focus, even though I am one. My son and I game together. If I'm hanging out with people, a chosen interest is what we have in common, not the coincidence of being mothers. Lots of people are moms and there are some with whom I have NOTHING in common. "I've heard GTA has that effect on some ladies. Women who I've met that are gamers do tend to limit themselves to strictly Nintendo games." Re: GTA Violence in video games is a separate issue, but to me, if you have to draw a line somewhere, there is a material difference between shooting legions of four-armed aliens and objectifying women (picking up or beating prostitutes). I'm as hardcore a gamer as you'll find. Even odds are I have been playing games since before half the people on this board were born, since I had an original Atari and a TRS-80 and played games on cassette tape. I play science fiction FPS games for preference, but do not like to see the objectification of women in my games.

There's also a Dames of Destiny.

Here comes the thirst

]We have PS3 systems for anyone out there wanting to join a father & daughter team when we are on. Levels 21 and 20. We don't do any PvP at all since this is my daughters first FPS game. I rather her enjoy the sci-fi part of it and keep the shooting to alien races only :-) She's having having a blast(pun intended) so far with the game. Very intriguing too. I just had to encourage her not to throw the controller where I knew where the Fallen were going to jump out. I get the occasional screams in game when she is in an intense battle...Lol! Of course no cursing and or any innuendos either. Call us the "Clean Team"...with the occasional screams. * Let me explain my Game ID; F1, for the fact that I love Formula One and that it is the fastest Road Course race out there and the most intense. Cheetor; well, that came from a Transformer character from a series called Beast Wars. The character was a cheetah and his name was Cheetor. So I combined the fastest land animal with the fastest road course racing cars and got....well, that.

Completely forgot to add you until I stumbled across this again after someone posted it on Facebook and I kind of feel like a jerk. All the same, any other moms feel free to add me if would like to. Level 27 Warlock, playing on PS4. Gamertag: Montananana

+1 look up Parental Advisory, though my primary clan at the moment is Feminist War Cult. :-p
-
Those BOTH sound badass! :) Thank you.
-
I also agree with this. Can we change it up from Dads to parents in general? I'm also a mother and have been sucked into this game (fps aren't my calling, this is my first one. I'm more of a platformer fan). Mother and hotel manager by day, currently level 20 Warlock after bedtime.
-
I know where you're coming from. I've got a newborn to take care of during the day, but once he's asleep, I make some damn time for Destiny. ;)
-
Same here. My attention is devoted to my daughter during the day, but as soon as 8pm comes around and I am let off of mommy duty while she sleeps, I usually play until my husband gets home from work around 1am. (Assuming I can keep myself up that late.)
-
I feel ya. Moms gotta relax in one way or another. Shooting aliens is very theraputic after a long day of work. Haha. Add me if you'd like. PSN: DoomKitty92 Cheers! :)

Edited by Ziggidy: 9/17/2014 2:51:02 PMCommunity needs more gamer moms. My wife HATES the games I play, Watch Dogs, Destiny, COD, BF4, etc. Etc. Shes the oldest young person I know. Lol. You should start a mom clan.
-
What?!? But those are all so much fun!! ;) haha. Thanks Ziggidy. I most definitely will start a gamer moms clan. That way when your wife is ready to come to the dark side, I'll be waiting with controller in hand. jk
-
Yeah, you don't have to tell me they are the fun ones, hahaha. She saw GTA IV on the PS3 way back when we had a group of friends hanging out before we started even dating. She HATED the game, looks at watch dogs, see basically the same thing. It was the being able to shoot whomever you wanted to, and being able to pick up prostitutes that tipped her over thr edge I think. She gets down on some New Super Mario Wii and Super Mario Party 4-7 though. We bust those out on the Wii when we have friends come over if we arent doing something outside, or if it is really late. Sent you a friend request. PSN: Ethereal_Dragon

Hahaha. Yeah, I've heard GTA has that effect on some ladies. Women who I've met that are gamers do tend to limit themselves to strictly Nintendo games. They're missing out, though!! At least you get to do SOME gaming together. My fiancé and I both love gaming. Our only issue is sharing game time! Lol. Just accepted.
