The Raid Needs Matchmaking!
It's all well and good to have five friends who play Destiny--most of us do--, but having five friends who also made it through the tedious and boring grind through lvl 24 - 26 is another thing. I also find it funny that Bungies' excuse for the lack of Raid matchmaking is that they only want dedicated raiders, when anyone from the public can enter the start of your Raid session from Patrol. So, I ask that we are at the very least give the option to MM for Raids.
If you're dedicated to raiding, you're going to be using the dedicated Raid lobby. A lot of Bungie's decisions don't make any sense.

I agree I only av 4 friends so how can I do the raid I'm a level 26 but can't do it so please Mm raids so I can play them or if any 1 needs extra man to do raids my psn is stoney841 add me please

1 ReplyIf they will finally allow mics to be used in fire teams then maybe matchmaking would work. It would have the 6 of us throw our heads together to beat it. Who knows? Maybe we will send friend requests and play together again.

1 ReplyI agree we need mm. I only have 4 friends who bought destiny and only 1 of them got to level 25 with me. No way the two of us can do the raid on our own and believe me, we tried.

if youve attempted the raid youll thank god that there is not randoms in your group. You want them all to have mics for the love of all that is holy they have to have mics. You and a bunch of randoms will most likely not only fail to be on the same task, call each other for help, or even manage to sit down together for the amount of time it takes to do the raid. One of the randoms will most likely go pee leaving you to just kick him in anger that he is afk for a few minutes. youll be pissed at the community because they will not come to help revive you but in their minds they are kinda getting shot at from all angles and if they die youll have to restart. So yea I like the no matchmaking. You can trust randoms to help you do something very very very very very very team based. Coordinating 6 friends screaming and being chased is hard enough. Imagine coordinating micless, some are probably little kids who turned off the volume so their parents wouldnt catch them playing so late at night for 03496 hours on a raid. They wouldnt hear your advice or pleas for help anyways. Trust me you dont want matchmaking in this. Just post on the forums for raid buddies. Then youll get people who have mics, and are serious about this raid enough to check on the forums for other people with mics and would be willing to help play as a team.

Well from other mmo's I have played throughout the years if you wanna call destiny a mmo at all. We need team leaders and have sign ups for who wants to raid that has the gear. As always people will sign up for certain times replace them fkr that weeks raid

It honestly sounds all but impossible for a group of randoms to do vault. Everything ive heard and watched a little bit of makes it seem you just won't do this without a dedicated mic'ed group of people capable of getting along. I think there needs to be some middle ground though right now bungie wants people to work towards epics and exotics but they haven't really given the average player a reason to do so. They need to implement a WoW style system ASAP with different difficulty levels and different qualities of loot. Right now it feels like bungie is copying WoW circa 2004 when they should be copying what WoW is now.

I agree. I think an entry level of 26 is enough to keep many of those who don't know what they're doing out. I know it takes a good amount of communication to complete it even on normal mode, so I understand that quite a few match-made raids would be wiped due to one or more person not having a mic or listening to instructions. That being said, this is not a new problem to veteran raiders and everybody at 26 can at least attempt the content to learn from it. Maybe have a function that is more likely to group you together with people who have completed the same amount of raid bosses that you have, while not entirely alienating those who have no completes.

6 RepliesIn all honesty I should have read up on this more before buying, because I would not have bought a console game where you need a clan or a large group to play with. I'm pretty upset that I won't be getting my moneys worth of content, and I practically set my 35 dollars for the season pass on fire and then pissed on it for no good reason. Dedicated raiders are for PC MMO's not console games, Bungie will realize that keeping content limited to a small amount of people will only hurt them in the future. No chat feature, no in game clan system, nothing, but random invites hoping that someone accepts, when in all other games those are the people you want to avoid like the plague, GG Bungie.

Only way to do that is to lock the vault of glass for people under lvl 26. Otherwise you'll be in matchmaking and get grouped with low level players who can't do anything.

I'm not against matchmaking for raids, but I don't think it would turn out so great. I wouldn't be surprised if less than 1% of matchmade groups finish the first boss. I really think the best solution is to use bungie.net to join Groups/Clans. It's very simple and a much easier way to find an organized team then matchmaking.

From what I been hearing the raid isn't worth the work you put into it 3 shards and a shader, please? Even not on hard difficulty it's still insane. At least give an exotic item or bounty or strange coins make it worth our 11 hours meh

1 ReplyI agree most of my friends still have not purchased destiny nor the "next gen" consoles. Therefor I have no choice but to play alone, So when I do get to the point of raiding... then what? The game needs to be friendly to people who play solo. Matchmaking would be great.

I think this would be pointless. Of the people that think this who has actually played the raid? if you have you'll know communication is a must, without it the battles will be horribly difficult and the puzzles imposable. You'd have to get very lucky in a match made game to get a team that can all talk to each other and after a few failed attempts at it you'd likely make your own fireteam anyway.

Not a chance. Find some freinds by joining a clan and then organize it yourself. Having people quite instantly on random strikes is frustrating enough.

2 RepliesI couldn't agree more, I struggle to get 5 friends to join me on raids and the matchmaking side for it would just help so much. While I understand that you need dedication to complete it I was going through a vanguard strike mission with two random people an we ended up doing 4 or 5 strokes as a randomly put together fire team. Matchmaking should at least be an option available to people and it's a great way to make new friends as well as play with current ones

Edited by Ryuu5oul: 9/18/2014 1:09:17 PMI changed my mind, I don't know if a full match making system system is ideal, but we do need a way to hook up with people doing the same mission. like being able to post an open invitation for people to join us on "x" mission or raid. and people have the option to join from ingame. or to post requests to join certain missions and leaders can go through lists of available players and pick out his/her team.
