Disappointment in Destiny is a dime a dozen, even in respectable review houses like IGN and Gamespot. That confused my because my experience with Destiny has be nothing short of incredible. I’ve already logged about 30hrs in the game, and I can’t get enough.
I think the problems lies with Destiny being a “Shared World Shooter.” They literally invented a new genre of game, and so many people come into it expecting something it’s not. It doesn’t have the movie-like story telling of games like Halo, the open world of games like Skyrim, or an expansive skill tree like many RPG’s. I could go on, but everyone’s already said those and more.
If you’ve said or thought those things, you're probably playing Destiny wrong.
Let it be its own game, embrace it.
Enjoy the subtle storytelling where you inhabit a world and discover pieces of the story as you go, just like you would in real life (or in games like Dark Souls). Explore the ever expanding world, with new stories and places to explore alongside your friends over the next days, months, and years (like many MMO’s). Stand tall in the Crucible when you bring in the same guardian you’ve been forming and shaping in the Vanguard, grind away for the epic loot (like you find in Diablo).
Oh, and whatever you do, don’t hit lvl 20 and say you’ve beaten the game. Thats actually when Destiny starts.

1 ReplyPeople like to complain. Even if there is no real problems, people feel like they need to make problems. Louis C.K. Said something like that in one of his stand-ups. I completely agree, Destiny is awesome, I was looking forward to it since the reveal.

1 ReplyI truly love destiny, but after the story is done, im affraid i get bored fast of doing the same strikes, raids, bounties over and over and over again. I dont care grinding bounties, or strikes, but atleast give us variety.. I know the game is still young, there for i know EVERYTHING is possible, but i hope its more sooner, as later they add stuff.. And i truly hope, they dont charge money for every thing they make.. "Official DLC , i gladly pay for, but new strikes, and 2 a 3 new story missions, not so much.

Oh, and people should stop complaining (like that will ever happen) about the drop rate. I've found 9 legendary engrams so far, and all of them have turned into rares. Which sucks. But I'm cool with it, because when I finally have some legendaries, or may exotics, I don't want everyone else running around with the same thing. If everyone had them and they were easy to get, they wouldn't be very legendary now would they?

Also, I played a good deal of DC Universe Online before playing Destiny and it really helped me understand the concept.
