Unfortunately a lot of people are failing to understand that this game isn't "finished" and done as it is. There is going to likely be new content added all the time. Today's gaming society is like that, though - if it's not the greatest game of all time then it's garbage. I for one can't wait to see what Bungie has in store for the future of the game. Saturn...

Lol thats actually true... People complain about COD all the time about it being the same, Destiny comes along and everyone complains. Here's the thing about Destiny, yes its a shooter. Its like an MMO but its not, its an online peer to peer multiplayer first person shooter that you must think like its an MMO. What does that mean? On most console games the mentality is: "I beat the story, now what? I should go play PvP' or "I beat the story, nothing to do." - And thats who most of the complainers are. Granted some folks actually have valid points that are debateable. I'm subtley mad about some areas still being closed off on planets. But MMOs do that too :/ In this game you must think like its an mmo: "I'm going to play the story, explore the world, get the best gear, be the best player, and have fun while waiting for the next bit of content weather it be DLC/Expansion or patch content." And thats MMOs. Yes MMOS turn into a grind...but you try playing the campaign of a game over..and over...and over..again. Now go play the story and missions on Guild wars 2 for each character...over and over and over again. Except this time you're doing it for actual rewards, this time you're doing it to improve your gear. If I had to compare this game to any other game: It would be Guild Wars 2 Both games are adding content and story with patches and updates. Both games have a story and want you to run/explore different zones to access the story or extra missions (same for other MMOs too) Both games allow you to progress in both PvP and PvE while having seperate gear and vendors. (Same for some MMOs too) There are clear vendors, just like MMOs, but unlike some console games. The vendors are located in the main hub just like MMOs. Minus an auction house. Both games have unique classes that arent tied down to specific combat roles like Tank or Support. Both games are F2P but must pay for the game. Of course in Destiny's case you must have PS+ or Xbox Gold to access extra stuff. So I guess in that way Destiny has something in common with Pay 2 Play MMOs like WoW. Although that is a PlayStation & Xbox requirement really...perspective? I mean I can go on for a little while longer. Then compare this to COD...no Halo. Shooter - duh. AI Mechanic - Bungie made a great shooter with Halo...why not use it? Its like making a good game and using the good qualities of that franchise and putting what you can in another franchise under the same people who made it. Its all based off the same in house engine btw so its sorta inevitable. Although at this point 343 has their own engine for the new Halo games. Sorry for the long post/reply. Some reviews are on the average scale,some good some average.I see what Bungie is about to do with this game.Yes it needed a little more story to it,but thats it.I say review it in ten years.

Cod at least makes some effort on doing a story in game.Destiny just tells you to go to the site to read the story on some cards.Hell I beat the story mode in destiny and it was the worst ending ever. If they are looking to milk this out for 10yrs or whatnot at least come out swinging because if this is the type of effort we will see in the next couple of years then just can the whole thing

Why do you think we're complaining? The story is almost nonexistent. Just take the Mass Effect back drop, edit some parts, and you got Destiny's story. Thanks to element zero and the mass relays/[b]The Traveler[/b] we were able to explore the depths of space and set down our own colonies. Most of Earth and our colonies were decimated as they tried to wipe us from existence. You're not even given a name for the Exo Stranger. It's just "Here, she's a time-traveling Exo battling the Vex, but we're not giving you so much as a name." That's about as lazy as when Bioware gave us a stock image off of Google and a five-minute Photoshop job and said "Here, THIS is Tali's face. This is the face of the one character you've always wanted to see." The Ghost is absolutely shallow in development. He only shows ONE moment of SOME emotion, and that's when you kill the Vex Gate Lord. There is no -blam!-ing reason to have an actor as great as Peter Dinklage play such a monotone character because the writers told him to. 343 Guilty Spark showed emotion. Cortana showed emotion. Heck, Bioware got this right with EDI and Legion! We've been dead a long time? Completely glossed over and never visited. Why? Probably because Bungie was too lazy to give an actual backstory and just went the Master Chief route and just made the silent badass with occasional one-liners. Except in Halo, a novel was released for a backstory to the John-117 an actual personality and story for anyone that cared enough. Destiny, it never happened. You want a backstory for who this person is or why you should care, too bad. Why does the Hive have a Traveler shard? Never explained. The Strike boss fights are only hard because you get Zerg-rushed by the adds. Other than that, it's just spam the weak spot on the boss and avoid their 1-2 hit kill attacks from up close. We only have 30 minutes worth of cutscenes. Most of which are beautiful and have huge potential, but are wasted on characters who are only there to spout exposition. The last good Bungie game was ODST, and that was only a few hours long in the story. Halo 3 failed in story. Reach failed in story. Destiny failed in story. And they had at least four years, if not more to write this. There is no reason to have a story this hyped and be completely underwhelming. Multiplayer is absolutely atrocious. Who thought it was a good idea to let people bring their single-player items into multiplayer? How is that competitive when it's not about skill, it's about who has the strongest weapon. What do most people use? A Hunter with a Shotgun and Auto Rifle or Hand Cannon. Play anything else, and you're screwed. The other day, I played a match and there was level 3 Titan, I was a level 21 Titan, and I felt bad about killing him so much. Why did it go that way? Because he had no gear to fight back, it's like a 12th grader fighting a kindergartner, it's absolutely atrocious that the developers let this through testing and dared to call it competitive. And just so we're clear, people complain all the time about COD being the same.

So true, everyone seems determined to find [i]something[/i], [i]anything[/i] to complain about in Destiny. It's only the immature players that seem to hate the game anyway, thank God for CoD holding back the worst of the players.

COD always has something new and degrading to offer in it's overdone sequels. I believe Destiny is a good game and I'm glad it lived up to the hype, seeing that it wasn't so over-addressed as the best game. Though there are some attributes that I despise like the Lvl.20 cap. Though this game so far hasn't felt dull, I'm hoping this games' life span last for a longtime.
