Destiny is a prime example we don't see original games with success anymore.
True story.
Too many spoilt people who don't appreciate effort and small things and expect too much.
COD = been the same since it began. No complaints
Destiny = new game, one of a kind, different, everyone hates it.

this is somewhat true till you called the customer spoiled. the customer typically pays for what he wants. not what some company thinks he wants. no company i know of can release a product that everyone wants. there is always gonna be someone thats says "thats not what i wanted" your post while inherently correct is putting the blame on the customer for lack of new ideas in products. what it really means is the company has to rethink what they think if their idea is correct or not. **note what i said is general politics in creating something new. I myself love destiny so far**

It's pvp is broken and devoid of skill and the story is lack luster. Strike bosses are just giant versions of other enemies and don't have any unique attacks or strategies to deal with them. The PVP can be fixed by removing starting ammo for your special and reducing the frequency/amount of special ammo on the map along with disabling supers and weapon levels. As is starts PVP is an unbalanced clusterfuck where one shot kill weapons rule the day. Strikes likely can't be fixed at the moment and we'll have to wait for expansions to get some truly unique bosses. Until then though Bungie would have to keep us placated with smaller story mission releases until their first expansion. However without a competitive pvp to fall back on this game will die off before that can even happen.

FINALLY someone who understands. Destiny is a MMO meaning updates, as we can all tell, additions W/O DLC, and overall a bunch of fun with friends. We can all Cleary see that Destiny is in fact a WIP. Please Haters -blam!- OFF

I love how when people get butthurt about a game, they always compare it with Call of duty like COD is some sort of common foe. I enjoy Call of duty. I enjoy Halo. I enjoy Destiny. They're all fun to play, and I don't think anyone truly cares so long as they're getting their money's worth.

16 RepliesI disagree with this. I love the gameplay on Destiny more than anything else I have in a long time, but I take fault with the bare bones narrative. I never quite knew what or why I was doing on any plot missions. It got interesting when the stranger showed up, but quickly lost it's way again. I thought we were battling the Darkness, but it felt more like we were battling a few annoying aliens and the big bad Vex. Where is the "Darkness?" Was that just a code name for alien invasion?

3 RepliesI love the game don't get me wrong, but I do have a couple problems with it. The story is just bland as all hell. Ghost goes to hack something and you have to defend him...This happens like 20 times and it got boring. I really like the competitive, I just don't like that how unbalanced it is. The special class abilities are just unfair as all hell and before you can tell someone is using it, you're dead. The you got the Hunter who can throw a knife that is difficult to get a hit with vs a Titan or Warlock who just smashes the ground and you die instantly. It's just not fair, but damn is it fun. I guess I just hate how they call it competitive when it's really just luck more than skill. It's like calling gambling competitive. All and all though, I haven't played another game since it's release so I have to say it's definitely one of my favorites.

I'm loving this game like NOTHING I've played in the last 20 years...and I"m only here because I'm at work and cant' play. :( Those who DON'T like the game are using the Internet to give them a BIG BULLHORN to make noise and get attention. But your larger point is valid. People like the *idea* of "new' and "different"....right up to the moment that it asks them to leave their comfort zone...and then most people *hate* it. Because the reality is that most people want the whole world and everyone ELSE to change...so that they can stay the same.

I personally love the game so far and appreciate the little things they have done. How do games that come out still in beta form and have a bunch of bugs and crash all the time get good score yet this game that plays flawlessly and has no noticeable bugs gets bashed. People think the game is repetitive game? What about Diablo 3 where all you would do is hack and slash over and over again. That game was the definition of repetitive and it got an amazing score.

On line only so you play with other people? More like que. Do the quest or pvp match and that's it. Over all the game is good but it has some problems that Halo did not. Bungie knows better then this.

Not everyone, I know, and have talked to many people who love it...long time gamers of varying backgrounds. But I do agree with your original post....if it's different, kill it....if it's the same, complain that it isn't different enough. Man I'm just here to kill shit and have fun.

Exactly, reviewers are constantly comparing Destiny to MMOs like WoW. Do we have to pay $15/month to play destiny? No? Then why don't they shut their trap? And then when you bring up expansions they whine about the $20. Uh hello, 1 time $20, or $15/month?? Hmmm which one is better.

I love this game but I also think that it is just a combination of mass effect and halo. Which don't get me wrong are two of my favorite games ever made but here is a list of similarities 1. Super soldier wakes up to save the galaxy and has an AI companion (halo) 2. 3 person fire teams (mass effect) 3. The tower can be compared to the citadel or even the Normandy from mass effect 4. Machine race as the enemy called the vex (the geth from mass effect) 5. Alien race discovered that propels the human race forward in technology (protheans from mass effect)

Dude, Destiny has sold like hotcakes. It's doing fine and the vocal minority who have problems with the game represent a small part of the community.

That is an ad Hom right there. Please enlighten many Game Critics and a decent amount of "casuals" who believe the opposite to your claim.

I greatly appreciate the effort and time and care that went into the shooting and mechanics. I think the feel is fantastic and that keeps me coming back. However, the way it pulls me off of the planet after every mission is lame. The way it wants me to be played friends, but doesn't provide an environment to make them. Halo's story, AI and Co-op were better, this game is just prettier--and that is not good enough to get a pass.

I don't hate it. Played it all weekend non-stop. However it's not completely "one of a kind". Different? Yes, on console anyway. Level and loot based coop FPS with raids? Firefall's(PC) already done this. Or Borderlands minus raids. Emotes? World of Warcraft or almost every MMO I've played or Firefall. Nothing to do after story but grind the same things over and over and over for 1 or 2 pieces of gear? Most MMO's or Firefall Raids that you can only do once a week for that 1 piece of gear you need that reset on Tuesday? World of Warcraft. Also Firefall thought not sure what day they reset. Level up your class just to get a new class that starts all over? Firefall. Every type of pvp match? COD and others. Can't really think of anything "original" off the top of my head. Seems they had an idea for a multiplayer co-op fps game with rpg elements and took things from others that are already out. It's not as groundbreaking or as epic as they hyped it up to be but it's still a good game. As long as there's enough things to explore and do to keep the end game grind from being so tedious then I'll continue to play. And I'm not meaning as if I don't want to do the "work" to obtain things. I'm just saying keep it interesting and fun to do. Reason I quit playing WoW. It's just not fun to run the exact same dungeon/raid 100 times just to get 1 piece of gear. I've already hit 20 but so far have been able to keep myself entertained whether it be trying a new strike, pvp, helping a low level friend, or just exploring new areas.
