Gamespots review for destiny is a 6/10, it very well seems to be the number that has been popping up time after time, even from metacritic and polygons reviews. We will have to see what IGN says about this one.
It does seem like 6/10 would be a fair rating for destiny.

1 ReplyAs I read more reviews, consider my limited experience, and reflect on the hours if gameplay I've watched when I can't play; I think we can all agree that bungie failed to deliver on the promise off the game. On the flip side, there are some really good aspects of the game: the controls, the gun play, the art, and the desire for that next piece of gear. Some will of course disagree with me. The great thing is, the problems with the writing, story and mission structure are all correctable in the future. Will hopefully... I how that they can go back to the drawing to a degree. They talk about how much flexibility they have with this game that they didn't have with reach, I hope we see it. I'm going to keep playing and enjoying the game. I waited till long to not enjoy it, and I paid good money well. I'd rather enjoy out.

Really? 6/10? That seems pretty low to me. Its an incredibly fun game and although the campaign wasn't mind blowing it was fun. I'd give it an 8/10
-
destinys hype deffinatley hurt its reviews. bungie promised so much with this game people were going to be disappointed no matter what, but comparing this game to others before it this game has to be a solid 9. only games I found this enjoyable were skyrim far cry and ac black flag.

I don't read that "lolreview" drivel. Why? because it's the opinion of someone I've never met and couldn't care less about. It's only their opinion and never about facts. My opinion? I'm having a hell of a fun time playing this game, and I can see myself playing it for even longer than I played (still play) Skyrim (I've got over 4000 hours into my Main Character in Skyrim, so do the math on how long I will be playing Destiny). My opinion is the only one that matters for a game that I play.

3 RepliesSpot on it's a 5.5 from my point of view terribly average game for terribly average gamers.

Edited by OmegaCorith: 9/13/2014 2:17:55 PMI just kind of see this as another reason numbers on reviews are kind of bullshit. I imagine you'd feel the game was below "good" and "great" (a 7 and 8 on their scale) if you were really interested in experiencing a great story. But I'm not sure you'd say this if mechanics was your focus. As a game that feels good and has fun multiplayer, a person a little less focused on story would likely give the game an 8 or a 9.

2 RepliesI'd say that's fair, this game is a 6-7/10
-
Edited by FunkyFelo: 9/13/2014 1:50:33 PMWell -blam!- it. I love the game and it has a huge replayable value to me, and that is what matters the most to me. It's not for everybody, no. But it's perfect for me and hundreds of thousands other players. Good multiplayer, excellent coop, nice exploration... This game will keep me busy for months. And then I will create another character.

I think a lot of people are put off by the hype train. They have a bias because they feel like they are hopping on the bandwagon by playing Destiny. I am as anti-bandwagon as it gets (ALS Challenge -_- ), but I will always have my own opinion. It's too bad; I have a lot of respect for Kevin Vanord, but it's dropped a sliver.

LOL Game reviewers/analysts and reporters can go to hell. I said this is another post we dont need them, but they need us. Simply put game developers are pretty much able to release news about their own games on THEIR OWN without the help of those idiots. Also the fact that you let a game critique choose your liking to a game is stupid. Everybody has so many different individual feelings now i wouldnt trust 1 person to lead that crowd and if you follow YES im calling you an idiot. I would not buy a game because some critique is paid to tell me not to. Gamergate alone has shown how messed up that entire world is. If i listened to reviews /critics then i would have never played RAGE and loved it when others didnt. whocares? im different. Screw the reviews, the ratings and the critiques.

I honestly don't understand how it's so repetitive for some people. I was off from work Thursday and got to play all day with one of my buddy's and we played on hard the entire time. Never once did I get bored of it become repetitive. They is so much this game has to offer in content and the campaign was just 1 part. And I doubt the reviewers even scratched the top

Yet the reviewers gave Watch Dogs a higher score.
Fishy, fishy.
Edited by Orvus93: 9/13/2014 2:00:30 PMI cannot understand a 6/10 score for this game. I'd say 8. I'm having loads of fun. strikes are awesome and the best part of the game for me so far. (Hoping they add lots more) And I've had no connectivity issues at all. But yeah, it doesn't deserve a 6 in my opinion. It's not the best game ever at the moment admittedly. But there are far worse games out there that have scored a 6. If Bungie support it for as long as they say they will and add tons of content then I've got high hopes for Destiny's future. And they've likely made back their money already and then some. Let's be honest, the majority of gamers don't read reviews do they, they go by marketing. It's how most of Activision's games succeed.. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/destiny And a 75 (generally favourable) is hardly a critical mauling is it... :P
-
If say that's spot on, maybe a 7/10. I'm enjoying myself, but honestly had no high expectations to begin with. It'll probably fall by the wayside when I beat the story.
-
4 RepliesI think a 6/10 is a little harsh. I for one did agree with one thing Gamespot did say and that was that Destiny is "a jack of all trades and master of none" but Destiny is better than a lot of other games that get higher scores like Titanfall, Watchdogs and COD: Ghost. Something a little off with that number.
-
The reason for the low scores are because bungie didn't let them have a review copy. 4 days earlier, they are pissed they can't do a "reviewed here first" tag, I heard somewhere game review companies had to purchase the game and they weren't given any hand outs. Good on bungie.
-
Polygon also gave it a 6. Listen to their arguments. A lot of them are valid.
-
6 Replies3/10 damn thing is a buggy, error ridden, overhyped, borderlands knock-off. Maybe a 9/10 for me if oh I don't know... it didn't give me a god damn error 24/7
-
I hate looking at reviews. It's literally their opinion. That is all. My opinion is that it's fun as shit, and I can't stop playing. I review for myself.
-
This game can easily be compared to a well crafted essay, it will get shit on or mocked by the highest of officials or professors and all you need is to take your shit stained essay and get back up. correct your mistakes, let the things you knew were good stay in your new draft and start afresh.
-
Don't care, the only review I'll read is Eurogamers.
-
2 RepliesWithout even reading these reviews, my edumacated guess is that the review is of the campaign story. And probably the basics of pvp. I didn't expect a Mass Effect story, so I wasn't let down. I'm not a pvp gamer, so I cannot comment there. For me, having a week off and playing Destiny has been about hitting lvl 20 and then seeing what's up. And I have NOT been disappointed at all. I've done a good number of Strike missions and lots of Patrol time. I love this game. Job very well done Bungie. Wait, it's not done. Which is something they've stated over and over, more content to come.

"What you see is a facade; the garden is a broken promise of adventures you never have and landscapes never explored, and it represents the whole of Destiny, a multiplayer shooter that cobbles together elements of massively multiplayer games but overlooks the lessons developers of such games learned many years ago. I dream of the tales that might one day be told in that sprawling expanse, but Destiny is not yet telling them." - Gamespot

Based on hype perhaps, but if you forget about all that then you have a beautiful game you can sink hours and hours into with tons of replay ability IMO

3 RepliesYeah let's see what a bunch of people who don't play video games have to say about a video game. Scrubs. Their opinions mean nothing
