Gun Damage Types, what is strong against what?
Question: What Damage Types is strong vs what?
Ive heard a rumor that what ever colour sheild they have is what their weak against. Any truth to this?
But even if that were tru, what about the ones without sheilds?
Can someone make a real simple post like this
Fallen weak vs ???????
Vex weak vs ?????
Hive weak vs ??????

It's color shield and element. Blue is weak to arc, red is weak to solar, purple is weak to void. There's no penalty to having the wrong element for the shield, and elements don't add damage other than to their respective shield strengths. However, some special missions, like this week's heroic strike mission, can amplify or weaken certain damage types.

Hive are obviously weak to fire. I'm assuming Fallen can't be weak to shock because their weapons are shock, so they're probably weak to void. Vex are probably weak to shock. Cabal? Hellmouth if I know.

As far as I am aware no enemy has special weaknesses to kinetic damage. Shields are weak to their own energy type, so use Solar on red (orange) shields, Void on purple, and Arc on blue and it will do massive damage to the shields. Critical shots no nothing special on a shielded opponent, so head shots on a Fallen Captain will do no more damage than body shots until the shield is depleted.

Well don't use a kinected energy gun on Mars lol. Some aliens there has a shield and it's immune to those types of guns
