How to get the most out of Radiance?

So I just unlocked Sunsinger, and I've been leveling it up and messing around with the talents. I'm not sold on Radiance, I thought maybe it would give us a damage boost to weapons or something. How have you guys been using Radiance? I really want to appreciate the subclass, but right now I don't think I understand it. Thank you

  • I love both but I like void more but. I would make a tanky class radiant will, gift of the sun, flame shield get heart of the praxic Fire, for pve get 100% current effect disipline and intellect and u have like a minute cooldown time or less maybe works with my titan bubbles everyday. In ur case meteor shower.

  • In my opinion, suns infer kicks ass in pve. It's amazing for hard mode raids where you can't be revived by teammates when you die. Now as far as pvp goes.... it's not even remotely close. Void is hella dominate. What is better than out playing your opponents with blink and having a shotty? Not to mention you can easily clear a room with your super for quick easy kills. On top of that the tracking void grenade is amazing. Crucible = void

  • Use heart of praxic fire. You thought you could already grenade and melee spam? Try it with the exotic armor called heart of praxic fire

  • Doesn't matter if u have radiant skin or fireborn both are good if u want to use super for offensive and defensive then radiant skin and for grenade spamming.

Here how I look at it/play Sunslinger: When a hunter activates golden gun, all the power is in the weapon. When a warlock activates radiance, all the power is with you and your abilities. I play it like this: just dive into groups, melee and grenade (you can throw like 4 during the whole duration (without the longer lasting effect) which you should utilize to the MAX), take mad hits because you can, your defenses get boosted somewhat (because i def cant take cabal punches to the face like i can when radient), and dip toward the end of the effect for quick health recovery. When you get the radiance passive where it resets cooldown for your teammates, you are the best fried to everyone, and then when they use their supers, you get the orbs, and BAM another radiance. It makes your team have the ability to burst HARD with supers. (I am rolling with my Titan and Hunter friends. Mixed team = survivability.). ALSO, and this is where I currently am in the tree (not that far by my opinion), when you get the melee passive that gives you a shield when you hit people, it seriously gives you an overshield to reduce incoming damage AFTER instantly bringing you up fully. That with the radiance and granades makes you godly, literally throwing suns at will, like reverse mini nova bombs. Eventually you can get 2 granades, so that means a possible 8 (maybe?) to throw during the effect. More if u have high discipline. Golden gun = weapon ability beastly Radiance = player abilities (defence, recovery, grenades, and melee) are beastly and have super minimal cooldown. Edit: this is a copy from what told someone earlier, and has worked out really well for them and myself.

  • Support teammates with it. Throw grenades often. Praise the sun! Later on you can opt to revive yourself with it. It's useful in solo missions.

  • I really appreciate all the posts. Does anyone have Sunsinger experiences in the Crucible? I find myself activating Radiance and only getting the odd melee kill here and there and a lot of missed grenades

    • I do fairly decent as a sunsinger in the crucible when I'm on a semi decent team. Fireborn works unbelievably well in game modes like skirmish. As soon as they run past your body, you can rise from the ashes and get the easy Melee hit to initiate FlameShield and start your rampage Current PvP build: Solar Grenade + Balanced Glide + Fireborn + FlameShield + Arcane Foce + Radient Will + Ancestral Will +Touch of Flame.

    • I can't say from a sun singer perspective, but as a defender, song of flame is awesome. When my buddy uses it, it's force barrier for days.

    • i love radiance. i essentially get 4 grenades sequentially one after another really quick. my method is to throw a grenade, activate radiance, then keep throwin as much as you can before time runs out. also, radiance doesnt begin to get good until u level it up more. firesinger is a good support subclass

      • I hit 15 and went sunsinger. I dropped to voidwalker for like 3 supers in a boss fight, and the sunsinger is way OP in comparison. Radiance, nade, nade, nade, nade, nade, nade, nade (not sure if i cap at 6 or 7 before it wore off...) but that's some serious dps output, especially if you spec right AND you can cover a HUGE area if you got good nade aim. Based on this though... I am thoroughly expecting a nerf soon haha.

        • I use it and just spam grenades and melee. You can get decent survivability, because the melee hits often and gives you a shield, and the grenades become pretty strong. You create orbs with nearly every kill, so others can use their supers way more often (more so if you have 'Song of Fire' or whatever), and when they super, you can pick up their orbs to keep the process going. Basically, Radiance gives you the ability to spam grenades and help others spam supers.

          • I've been playing with the sunsinger since level 15. Radiance is amazing amazing in my opinion. It reduces damage taken, reduces skill cooldown, and increases the damage they do. My grenades have a 29% faster cooldown from gear(I want this much higher). With radiance.... it's about a 3 Second cooldown. This plus the skill in the far right that gives grenades a burn effect, and the skill the boost burns, it's pretty powerful. As an example, in PvE I find myself generating upwards of 20 orbs with it. In PvP, I may only get a kill or 2... but it can be used to kill yourself from dying.

            • How exactly does Radiance work ? Does it just reduce the cool down timers ?
