What DOES the tricorn symbolize?
This bad boy is everywhere in Destiny. The tower, advertisements, even on the astronauts that found the Traveler had the symbol on their suit's feet. This begs the question: what does it mean?

The Tricorn was a hat popularized by explorers of the world. It likely symbolizes our own exploration of the Sol system.

Totally speculating, but maybe it's the darkness of the Cabal, Vex, and Fallen trying to envelope the light of the Traveler?
