Day One of Destiny is behind us. We’re still hard at work to make sure all of you have a great experience.
Thanks in part to chatter on our forums, we’re aware of some networking issues being experienced on college and university campuses. Our team is engaged in diagnosing the cause, but you might also be able to help.
Members of the Bungie team will be contacting some of you directly to troubleshoot. Keep an eye on your Bungie.net inbox to see if you’ve been drafted as a test subject. If you don’t hear from us, we still love you and we’re still working to get you into orbit.
Please continue to report any issues you experience on this forum.

UPDATE 1.0: We’re making progress toward a solution to the university network issue. A potential cause are security devices that don’t recognize Destiny network traffic. We’re in touch with the manufacturers of these devices to create an update that we hope will enable you to play.
Stay tuned as work on this continues. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to learn the contact information for your network administrator. Stand by!
UPDATE 2.0: We have isolated the issue and are working with security device manufacturers to release a fix this coming Monday, September 15th. Affected universities will need to apply the patch from the security device vendor to fix the problem. Once the patch is released, we’ll add details to this thread that you can forward to your network administrators. Stand by, be brave, and have a nice weekend.
[b]UPDATE 3.0: We have determined the cause at the root of most of the issues being encountered on university campuses. We have been in touch with network admins at most of the universities listed on this forum (thanks again for helping us help you). In summary, there are network security devices that have been incorrectly identifying Destiny traffic as a bit-torrent. We have also reached out the manufacturers of the security devices in question. They've been awesome, and have released an update that will allow you to play on a network protected by their hardware. That update will need to be applied by your local network administrators, assuming they have not done this already.[/b]

We'll be working to solve every issue that blocks a Guardian from the Tower. Keep posting on this forum.

Yessssssss!!!!!! I love you again. Update: Worcester Polytechnic Institute IT people fixed the problem for campus. Not sure how. Bungie or anyone, if you want, email WPI IT people (not sure what the address is) and ask them what they did. So glad it's working!

After personally working with Bungie and my IT department, I can happily say that Destiny is working at UT Chattanooga! Best of luck to those still struggling, Bungie is working hard on this I assure you. I just thought some good news would be welcome here.

BREAKING: [b]My college, Oberlin, has just managed to fix the error. I'm not sure how they did it, but Bungie, please contact Oberlin College's IT department to see if there's a universal fix that can be sent out.[/b]

This isn't just a university issue. I cant play Destiny on my Xbox 1 on our home network for more than 5 minutes in Crucible, 20-30 minutes in a strike and about the same time in patrol. However, my brother on his PS 4 downstairs is having no issues....I don't think its on our end........any tweets, comments, or tips would be appreciated. Hating the "BEE" error atm. All our ports are open and since my brother is fine, I am at a loss........

Plattsburgh said they literally can't do anything so I have a $60 disc that is absolutely useless fix the problem or send me my $60, this is the only game I have a problem with this is absolutely 100% ridiculous.

Get off their backs. They are working on it. Its still a new game. Every new game has problems. The same thing is happening to me as well. I'm not complaining.

I need a solution for Error Code: Bee. I can't do anything without being disconnected. It's starting to drive me crazy.

I go to Eastern University and haven't been able to connect or play for more than 10 minutes and keep getting the error code for connection and the server. Hopefull this is fixed soon because I really wanna play this game!

This is ridiculous! i expected launch issues but not to this magnitude. 5 fcking minutes is all i can play this game. These issues were in the beta and many people said something about them. Bungie this is insane, get this fixed ASAP

It's not only in Universities, I'm at home in Belgium and have a great internet connection. Never had a problem with any game before. Playing on Xbox One and if I look at my network stats my NAT Type is Open and every other test is positive. I've even followed the latest instructions they posted about Centipede and opend the Ports but no succes... Sometimes I get to play for a few minutes but no longer than 10. Weird because the Beta worked fine most of the time compared to the full version. It's so frustrating having to wait so long for the game to release and when it does... it doesn't even work most of the time. The moments I get to play the game are random but when it works it seems stable and most important I'm enjoying every second, untill Centipede shows up and kicks me back to the main menu. Please fix these problems ASAP so we get to enjoi your game and get what we paid for!

Not just in universities! I have been getting centipede with too and I live no where near a campus. I can play for roughly 30 minutes and it will kick

I love how so many people blame Bungie when it's the universities, by their own admission, that are blocking or not providing a service that students have paid for.

I have not even been able to see a single cutscene due to centipede :/.. like every thing else on xbox i have NO problems playing other online games JUST Destiny . Its highly unlikely they change the settings for me >.<

I got to Valley Forge Christian College (next week we are upgrading to the University of Valley Forge) and I can't even get through the first cut scene. I also had to take my xbox to a friends house just to transfer the game from the disc to the Hard Drive. I've been waiting forever to play this game; if you guys can fix this issue that would be amazing, considering I can't do anything to adjust the NAT setup. Thanks!

Uhmm i'm not on university or college campus .. just on a normal good internet in a normal house not even close to a collage or whatever .. and i can't even finish a mission properly .. without getting kicked off .. i mean come on ... and the help pages really didn't work . it only confuses me and believe me i know alot about computer and stuff .. but i just can't find my router in the list to portforward or anything of those options .. and theres no single help if your router aint listed or anything .. how i'm supposed to help myself out then ? how are other people with even less experience of those network problems gotta help themselves out? we all never had those problems on other games .. well...?

How about we fix baboon grape elk and all the others ones that keep disconnecting me every 10 minutes or so? I never had this issue in the alpha or beta!

Edited by Delta Halo: 9/11/2014 11:35:01 PMBungie i am been busy with this whole centipedi problem for 3 days no continiously tryin to fix it there is nothing wrong with my home connection, ports, nat ect HOW DO I KNOW tryng for 3 days now to get into the game from 10 am until midnight GTM never been longer in the game than 7 min now once it gets midnight i can get i the game play crucible, strikes, missions widout problems(what???) the funnyest thing is i live in belguim and can play whole night with american fireteam, populated world whidout interuption but once it gets morning here like around 8 am the game starts back at acting buggy again and again i start being kicked every 7 min all day long SO HOW CAN THIS BE A PROBLEM AT MY END IF IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM THE WHOLE NIGHT this is the 3 night this occurs bungie COME ON BUNGIE HELP US or tell us atleast what the problem is so we can all try to fix it

When will this be fixed?? Day 3 and nothing has changed
