Everyone! I am pleased to announce that Destiny is now working (for me at least).
I am at Norwich University in Vermont.
None of us here contacted our IT guys or anything so it looks like bungie finally fixed the issue.
I did not conduct any troubleshooting or anything. I just started up the game to check and it worked!
Let's hope it works for all of you!
I am running a NAT type 2 through an Ethernet cable connected to our schools network.

Update* A buddy of mine down the hall made it past the phase that I am currently in, and is on the online (interactions) phase on the home planet part. Looks like its working for him.

I will keep posting updates on the progress. Currently it is "Transferring game content" and installing. I hope it works for all of you sooner or later. I do wish I had an explanation or could provide you all with a troubleshooting guide, but i literally did nothing. I was in all of your guys shoes yesterday and kept receiving the 'nightingale' error which is pretty much the same as the current centipede error you all are encountering. For some reason it just started working. We didnt bring up the issue with our IT guys here, or open any of the ports etc. Lets hope Bungie just fixed it, but it does seem weird that it isnt working for everyone yet?

Everyone was able to do that, mate. It's when you actually try to start the game that it slaps you down.

Mine transferred game content and installed yesterday but when I actually attempted to play the game all I got was the centipede error. Hopefully Bungie finds a way for people at all universities to play Destiny

Hm...lets hope it works. What it is currently doing now it wasnt doing before. So hopefully its fixed. Prior to today all it would do after I pressed x to begin was give me that error code saying some bs about the server and the horrible yet familiar error code. Once it is done installing I will post an update and let you all know if it is working and playable.
