I haven't been able to find any detailed information on exactly how co-op works in Destiny. I understand that there are certain modes such as Public Events, Strikes, etc., but what I'm wondering is; can you play through the entirety of the campaign and have a buddy with you every step of the way (a la Halo co-op) - including in between missions, such as when at the Tower? Or are there only certain areas of the game where you can join up with someone and everything else is single player?
Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

This is after the tutorial, though. The initial tutorial - up to finding your ship and going to the tower your first time - is solo. After that, form a party and all in the party will stay together. I can confirm this is true as my wife and I played yesterday, had to do tutorial separately (game even tells you that) and then we played mission after mission together in a party. Party members names (above character) are green, everyone else is blue. Same on the mini map, green vs blue dots. For PS I don't know what their equivalent of a party is, but I'm sure its the same. I set my chat to party chat and had headset communication. It's what worked for me. I'm sure there are other options.

1 ReplyThere is no co-op practically. There's no matchmaking parties, you can't randomly join people or have people join you like you can in Borderlands or Diablo. And if you happen to see people in the world you can't talk to them and no one accepts fire team invites..So basically you're playing a single player game that you might see people in but they won't talk to you or join your party and seeing how there's no story it's a bore.

1 ReplyInvite a friend to your fireteam. You can play any mission with a full fireteam.
