Destiny ERROR MESSAGE : Strict NAT with NAT Type 2

Everytime I launch Destiny on my PS4 it tells me I have a STRICT NAT setting in my network when my PS4 confirms I have a Type 2 NAT with all the correct ports forwarded. Is anybody else getting the same message? Does anybody no why? Cheers, Forbegos

  • What i do to fix thuis is: Start up game until i get. nat error message. Go to ps4 settings->network and test connection. Restart destiny and now the error is gone. I'm using wifi. Hope this helps

    • This is not something new for me, I have fixed these issues before but the problem sometimes is just the router company, or even the wireless, that's why it said before to use Ethernet cord because the wireless card on the systems are fairly weak and bump down from level 1 to level 2. It's a hassle but you have to try all avenues of approach to solve the issue. You can try the info link from bungie but it will not always work...

I get the same message after placing my PS4 on the DMZ on my router. This was done after I was still getting it even after port forwarding all noted ports with psn and bungie as well as setting my ps4 to a specific ip with the router... and changing the dns to opendns and google. PSN shows nat2 rather quickly, destiny keeps telling me its nat3. Is the ps4 going to turn into a router to resolve this issue?

      • I have the same problem, a "Strict NAT" error message every time I start Destiny. I've been able to co-op successfully so I'm not aware of any real problems, just the error message. My PS4 has a wired Ethernet connection and a static IP address. I've opened all the ports suggested by Sony and Bungie. When I check the Internet connection in PS4 settings it says NAT Type 2. My router is a D-Link DIR-655.

        • Yeah same thing for me! I was messing around with my router again but everything seems to be in order! The PS4 tells me that my connection is Type 2, but when I load up Destiny it gives me that error message......

          • Got this during the Beta My solution was to get a static ip on the ps4 then put that ip into routers DMZ

            • Got this too mate. But i think i dont experience any issues so far. Pvp works well, groups and strikes too. I just ignore it for the moment.
