Also at TN Tech. We just had some network issues here yesterday that I assumed were the cause of this, but from the sounds of things it's port related. I played the beta from home so I had no idea this was a potential issue.
I've had no luck in the past getting IT on campus to open ports so I'm going to be pissed if Bungie can't fix this (though if anyone else at Tech has already contacted IT about this, let me know and I'll definitely make a point to say something as well to try to get them to listen). I play plenty of online games here without issue, Bungie made the decision to use ports in a range that university networks are likely to block.
If Bungie can't fix this for some reason they really need to tell us what ports the game needs.
