There is nothing to fix. Bungie runs a peer to peer connection. Most universities block p2p. Your university isn't going to unblock the game just because a few thousand or hundred people want to play a video game. And I highly doubt that bungie is going to change their server type. Not really sure what is involved with that but it's probably quite troublesome.
It would have been nice to know their service was run as peer to peer because then I wouldn't have even bought the game, knowing I couldn't play it here at uni.
It would at least have been nice to play the campaign though.
1st world problems.

I've repeated this multiple times in multiple posts. Bungie's servers are p2p HYBRID, The have the utmost capability to be run through a network that does not support P2P, it's a wondrous design with poor implementation and most likely....... poor programming on the server side of things. To skip the nerdy programmer details, It's fixable, Bungie just doesn't have the skill to make it swift. Bungie is losing our client ID in the methods that check connections inside their Server in the Server Client relationship.

the IT department at my university says the have looked over everything and there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to get on. They say it's bungies end
