I don't understand why it's so important to have split-screen for a game like this. I can understand games like Diablo III, or arcade titles, but ultimately I feel a game with graphical content such as this deserves the biggest gaming screen space possible.
Plus, as it's been mentioned, working around account services on one screen would be a nightmare - PSN, Xbox Live, etc.

No one is forcing you to not play with the biggest space available to you. Allowing some players the ability to play split screen if they choose doesn't force you to have a smaller screen when you play alone
-
Ummm... It's been done in CoD.
-
CoD also used the same variation of the same game engine for 7 years... So it was nowhere as pretty as Destiny, so split screen was no big loss.
-
Dude. Halo 5 will have dedicated servers 1080p 60fps with splitscreen.
-
I'm sure it will. But Halo 5 isn't Destiny, and Halo has typically had that kind of splitscreen functionality - Destiny, obviously, has not. And I, personally, don't mind.

Same fundamentals. Open world online shooter.

The new Halo is an open-world, online FPS? I did not Know that, suddenly interested, I am.
