Hi there, I am keen to get the game, but live in a rural area and as such only have 8GB of data per month on my home internet, I understand Destiny is primarily online, but is there any official word on how much data per hour this is likely to use? I assume most of the information is stored on the disc so it wont be streaming an awful lot. Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

2 RepliesI thought that it wouldn't use that much at all but after playing for only 4 days it has used 10GBs - I only have Ps4 connected and there have been no updates for Destiny other than the 300ish MB update when I brought it home, meaning the whole 10GBs were just from playing. It used about 3GBs the first three days when I was grinding to level 20 and then when I started PvPing in the Crucible it went to hell and used a TON very quickly. I'm in your boat with living in a rural area and have only a 15GB limit so needless to say, I won't be playing this game anymore as much as I hate the fact. Hope this info helps

4 RepliesI've monitored it on my Xbox One and I think it depends on what you're doing (Crucible, Patrols, etc) but it's anywhere between 100mb and 300mb per hour. It will be more if you play a lot of Crucible and spend a lot of time in the Tower. When you're out by yourself on Patrols or simply doing the Story it seems to use far less, although still quite a lot. It's a bit ridiculous really.

2 RepliesEdited by Amusekus: 9/4/2014 1:49:23 PMActually it will be streaming a lot of upload and download at same time. All your information is stored on the servers, not so much the hard drive. The data on your hard drive is to mainly translate the information coming from the servers, and translate what you do back to the servers. I can't tell you the actually amount but I wouldn't be surprised if the first download was close to 8 gigs (The Download you will do after you install game to hard drive. Games like these usually have big downloads at launch from things they changed since it went Gold).

Edited by ExceptionHandler: 11/2/2014 12:04:24 PMDestiny is VERY data hungry, and is also intolerant of connection drop outs. Looking at my usage I use about 100 Mb an hour. You will also get constant updates which will also chew into your allowance. It's unbelievable ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
