So read this http://www.gamespresso.com/360/destiny-on-xbox-one-requires-a-massive-40gb-of-storage/
Wow, others were saying 18gb on x1, so now I'm worried my 20gig hdd on my x360 is not going hold the game. For pre orders and stuff you'd think they'd be obligated to tell you the install size, because they really would determine whether your console can even fit the game on it or not.

The download for te xb1 preload was only 18g. But we can't launch the app yet. It's more than likely a compressed file that once it is able to launch will need to be extracted and reinstalled like the beta was.

Edited by B4S_Warl0ck: 9/8/2014 6:11:21 AMif this rumour is real, we have to download 20 gb for xbox 360 to bungie's servers when you start the game(like world of tanks) which gunna take a lot of time and if their servers dont make it it will probably overloaded with tons of people downloading the installation at the same time!!

Remember the 360 & PS3 versions will not be as big as the XB1 & PS4 versions. Graphics and so on... But just in case I bought a 500 GB HDD for my xbox 360. Too bad I have more memory on my 360 now then my xbox1.... Since my 360 was the 4GB version. It contains the operating system there. My XB1 has it OS on the internal HDD. :(

20gb isn't enough for anything these days.
-
2 RepliesOk, now im glad I am not going digital for once.......(besides, not like Destiny will be leaving my disk tray anyway)
-
Edited by Black Thorn: 9/3/2014 3:54:46 PMJust buy a 1 Terabyte external hdd and call it the day and hook it up to your X1. Sorry I misread your post, but you might have to wing it man or buy a new gen console.
-
3 RepliesYou don't have to install, I just use the disk. Sure, it takes longer, but is really that much effort to walk over to your stack of boxes every so often?
-
If you have to, delete games you have in your library or already installed because you will find all of them in your download history if you want them again. I don't have to worry because I think 1TB can handle Destiny.
-
15 RepliesPlaystation install is 40 gb, xbox 360/1 is only 18 because it is missing the Vault of glass raid, Mars, armor & weapons etc that are exclusive to Playstation. So your good.

Edited by Soft Head: 9/3/2014 1:10:25 PMalso like point out that total war games like empire total war were like 25 ish gb that came out in 2009 not really that massive but still big game web sites make it out be the end of the world mASSIVE

6 RepliesJust swap out your hard drive for a large capacity like I did with my PS3. Oh wait, Nevermind.
-
The 360 version requires 20 exactly :P
-
6 RepliesI doubt the 360 version will be 40g, but I also doubt that you will be required to have the full game installed anyway if you have the disk. While yes it is better to install the disk as it gives better load times, and puts less strain on your system do to disk drive heating up and all, it usually isn't required to install the full thing. I can't say for sure one way or another however. You can get a 120gb drive I believe for $50 at gamestop, possible cheaper through something like amazon. Wouldn't be a bad Idea to increase the size anyway unless you plan to upgrade your system in the near future. Once expansions come out you will be needing the room for those.
-
Your going to need a bigger HDD or upgrade your console. Because you still have the two expansions and not to mention any updates that the game might require over its life time
-
1 ReplyXbone tells the file size its 18gb download and then balloons to 40gb after install
-
1 ReplySounds like PS4 time to me, junior.
-
If u check the info' on Amazon it says that the Xbox 360 version is 20 Gb. So, time to pick up a cheap HDD, or spend the 9th of sept' crying, while rocking in a corner...

17 Replieshow do you have 360 with 20gb of space? Space magic? is it made out adamantium? they should all be dead now ... props for still having it space gonna be a issue what model do you have?
-
That sounds about right. Most games this gen are going to be in that ballpark.
-
4 RepliesEdited by BenMet: 9/3/2014 4:25:50 AMYou thought the full game would be less than 20gb...?
If you want a really cheap solution http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-Backup-Flash-SDCZ40-064G-A11/dp/B001T9AT52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409718221&sr=8-1&keywords=65gb+flash+drive
1 ReplyIf you only have a 20 gig hdd, do you have a launch console? How did it last this long? That's almost 10 years old. If you do only have the 20gig hdd from launch and the game requires a 20gig install, you are going to need a new hdd for your 360 in order to play Destiny cuz altho they're "20 gigs", even when empty there are only 13 gigs available for data storage. Amazon has 320 & 500 gig hdd for $50-$60, so you might want to look into one.
-
You had all this time to upgrade...
-
Xbox 1 is up to 40gb, xbox 360 is up to 20 gb. According to gamestop website, in the fine print at the bottom.
-
1 ReplyJust find a cheap HDD on eBay or amazon. Problem solved.
