This is what good telemetry data will show. I think it is funny that people commenting on the Forums think that comments or complaints brought about these changes. If Bungie is smart, which they are, they are processing the telemetry data in PVE & PVP in order to determine how each item in the game is impacting the balance. Good on Bungie for listening to the data.

Sounds like it's going to be DMR vs. BR vs. AR all over again. DMR is overpowered no matter what they do, BR is good but you'll almost never beat someone with a DMR who knows what their doing. The AR? The weakest of the three for multiple reasons. I hope it doesn't turn out that way.

The old give everybody a ribbon culture continues. Nice job you bungie pussies

Edited by Jesse_James-574-: 9/3/2014 3:32:11 AMBottom Line: Only HandCannons and Pulse rifles needed a SMALL buff everything else was just right. And even HandCannons were quite deadly if in the right hands.Seems to me there allowing a unskilled, casual, unmotivated to get better, winer group that in all honestly is very very small under 1% of the player base to possibly break or deteriorate from a already well balanced experience.*** I see them destroying the AR's making them unusable or not viable .***.Think about it AR's should be the bread n butter as far as they are full fire with great range.*** This is sad AR's should have been left alone while giving HandCannons & Pulse Rifles a very minor buff. Edit: By the way myself and a large group of fellow gamers i play with used the HandCannons,Pulse Rifles,Scout Rifles,AR's and every weapon was viable in certain circumstances with the right amount of skill and know how.Get good get determined and motivated to achieve a skill level beyond crying out nerf this buff that. Leave a Like if you feel the same way.Edit:17 agree so far

I didn't like the AR anyway, so I'll be fine. :)
-
not a fan of the AR anyway. Scout rifle ftw
-
Luke still owes me 36 steak dinners...
-
I ended up using the Shingen C mostly. But i was really looking forward to the SR hoping it would be like Reach's DMR! But it didnt :(
-
Strange, didn't seems to matter what weapon I used It was a killing machine. But in all seriousness I felt the weapon balance to okay. AR were best at close quarters which were most PvP encounters occur. And since most idiots try and use PRs and SRs up close but get wrecked they claim OP. ARs are best at close range but can be used at med range. PRs are best at med range but still okay at closer ranges. And SRs are best at longer ranges. All there weapons have their niches use them outside of that niche and somebody with a weapon specializing in that range will wreck you. The weapon balance was fine in beta
-
To be honest, it made no sense as to how the Scout Rifle did the same damage as the Assault Rifle. You'd think it would do more, but no. It's pretty much a semi auto Assault Rifle.
-
When people make threads about weapons, make sure you specify in PVE or PVP. To me in PVE the assault rifle was ok in certain situations but the scout rifle much more effective overall. I hope they don't start playing with the weapons only based on PVP balance....that's why on most games with both now they have separate stats when go in PVP so they don't screw up PVE. The Auto--rifle if it is nerfed will become next to useless in PVE where things don't all fight in close medium range and die in half a second like in PVP.
-
This is a very good thing for the game. The AutoRifle simply outmatched any other weapon type at any other range. There is a pattern if the player with the most kills in most games during the Alpha and Beta was wielding the AutoRifle.
-
Everyone says that auto was the king, but I never really noticed. I got hit with everything from shotguns to sniper. I was using pulse for much of my time in game. Every weapon had it's strong points, but to call it the god killing machine seems abit much. If they do end up nerfing it, I can only predict a smaller magazine or lower fire rate. Anything else might break it for PvE. Still think people are overestimating them.
-
We never fought gods in the beta we had lvl 8 weapons and gear. I don't understand how you can determine if an entire class of weapons is overpowered based less then half the lvl cap. This is why I'm leaving the forums for good when Destiny launches. You all could end the drought in Cali with all your tears.
-
Leave to people to bitch and moan about weapons being OP. Next thing you know the damn spaceships are OP, the special powers are OP, the jumping is OP. shut up people! F-ing kids wine about everything anymore!
-
Before: Pulse rifle - shit Hand cannon - shit Scout rifle - good Auto rifle - great (aka god killer) Probably Now: Pulse rifle - good Hand cannon - good Scout rifle - good Auto rifle - good Each reqire different handling and skill as well as each being appropriate in different situations. Hopefully this^ is how it turns out.
-
I hope they didn't nerf it terribly. Using hyper-accurate headshot-capable assault rifles in pvp was a totally different experience from any game I've ever played and if it never comes back, I will miss it.
-
good.
-
I do not wish to harm any Gods, so I do not feel let down by this news.
-
Scout rifles till I die!
-
Still hope the legendaries and exotics are monsters though. Just not the lower level ones as they were a tiny bit OP
-
Meh, still going with Cydonia on launch.
-
Good. 90%+ of everyone in the iron banner was using auto rifles, myself included, because certain versions of it were just so much higher dps than any other weapon. They are balancing things that need it, good on em.
-
doesn't surprise me. I predicted that the ARs were getting nerfed because they were the cause of most weapon kills in PVP (too much of an imbalance between weapon classes). I'm just hoping that the ARs don't get nerfed to the point where they just become paper weights.
-
Edited by TSK Sefier: 9/1/2014 5:21:24 AMI think that was a bad move. The AR wasn't nearly as over powered as the pulse rifle. People would charge that thing up and take out whole teams as a one shot one kill weapon. Edit: Correction, i meant fusion rifles.
