  • Ah. So you only pulled one part of a whole thought and made a comment. And the whole post was specifically trying to avoid the mentally that you displayed in you response.

  • Normally an example its a short detailed explanation of what ever it is you wrote. So yeah. Still a noob. If that was a true story, and your the subject of the example. You're a noob.

  • And again the exact attitude I'm trying to avoid. Thank you for continuing to prove my point.

  • Its pvp... competitive gameplay. There is no avoiding it. Bungie said it themselves they want competition. If you cant handle it stick to pve. All you're doing by eliminating competition is promoting that your minimum is enough. To do the less you need to do to succeed. Thats just lazy. If you genuinely suck... practice, try to out think your enemy if your gun game sucks. Thats all it takes. Even the good players were noobs at one point.

  • I'm not eliminating scoring. If someone goes 10 and 1 and scores 10000 points. Another person goes 5 and 10 but plays the objective. They capture and defend points. They also score 10000 In a world where kdr is king the 10 and 1 player is considered good. The 5 and 10 player is considered a noob When they both scored the same amount of points. Helping their team equally in a match where total points mattered. Not total kills. Perhaps the game mode was more weighted on kills. However there were other factors. Control point modifiers. Defend kills. Things that award bonus points.

  • Thats a different example. If you're the lead on control points yet a horrible k/d. Still unfortunately means your a noob on kills but overall great if not excellent team members. You can honestly even goin 30 n 5 with 3 controls you're still concidered a sucky player just cause you didnt do the objectives. Your a kill whore. Its easy to get a very high k/d If thats all your aiming for on a none deathmatch objective. Dont get me wrong I fully understand what you're saying. Maybe the example used wasnt the strongest example possible for your argument. But that was the exaple I commented In every great team each person knows their roll. If your k/d not strong handle what your good at, and practice the rest.

  • That is what I'm trying to promote. Everyone rewarded for their play style. The kdr whore can get a lot of points. The objective player can get a lot of points. When the match is over they both see a score of 10000. There is none of the typical judgment passed based on one stat that was added to the overall score. So now the objective player is rewarded for playing the objective. Where as in a kdr system they play outside their roll because they want to look good in the kdr column.

  • As far I remember it does state how many points or objectives you fulfilled on the game stats page. Not the main. In the end game progress screen. I doubt they will get rid of the kd tho.

  • Yes you are correct. They do show overall points. I was simply stating the emphasis they put on kdr. When you open the app and look at your character the first thing you see is your kdr. Not your score. I guess I'm not saying throw away the kdr stat. Just don't make it the "only" stat. There are captures, defends, assists, etc. But one look at the app or score after a match will highlight the kdr. They even tracked kdr for pve lol. I mean how meaningless is that? I got a 25 kd my story mission. Does anyone care?
