Please please please do not dumb it down or nerf the mode just to cater to people that want the game their way. Stick to your gut decision and keep things the way you made it! Don't add match-making. I understand and respect your decision on why you chose not to include it for this mode. You will have a wave of people complaining and talking about how they don't like it and since the people that dislike something usually voice their opinions the most developers tend to listen to them thinking they represent the masses. Too many games have been ruined by complainers, entitleist, and unskilled gamers voicing their opinions the loudest. I'm gear to say great job Bungie, keep doing what your doing. For every one person that says they hate it there's 10 more that loves it. In the words of Charlie Sheen you guys are WINNING!
Update: After reading Bungies recent weekly update I'm confident they will stick to their guns. They are very generous with allowing your progress to be saved up to 7 days to complete a raid. I am glad to hear the new information and Bungie is continuing to do a great job. I love that only the character i complete a encounter with will be locked out from getting more loot. I planned on having multiple characters anyway.
Update #2

The people doing the Raid with you don't have to be on your friends list, right? Just in your fireteam of six?
-
AMEN!!! I also believe the raids should be difficult enough that on the higher difficulty/level settings that some people just won't be able to cut it, I like the challenge. PSY

Edited by DEZARATH: 8/31/2014 2:58:20 PMThey need to go further and apply the concept to PVP. All the problems listed and the results PVP suffers is from matchmaking with Randoms. PVP players should have to form actual clans and friends get them together and then enter a match. Cuts the quitting, AFKs, team killing in half. Cmon let's be honest even friends will stick a grenade in a buddy's tank exhaust. But that's funny instead of the horribly evil and silent contempt randoms feel for each other that has ruined PVP matchmaking for years now. Too bad they're not brave enough to apply the best solution presented in years that could fix PVP in what's been discussed with Raids.

This will be changed & that's a fact. The only people who want this. 1: 12 year olds. 2: 30 year olds still living in there parents basement.
-
Read the Newsweek. Raids will be hard. No worries.

Edited by Aequitas_DC: 8/30/2014 6:36:26 PMI got a simple word that negates matchmaking. LOCKOUTS. It isn't going to work like most think, and it will make matchmaking quite unbearable, which is probably a big reason it isn't there.
-
Agreed... I'm quite sure the whiners are inexperienced in raids and will change their tone once they enter one...

Bring on the Pain!!!!
Yeah!!!!
Matchmaking would be brutal, think of all the rage quitters, squeakers, whiners, complainers, I'd rather have people in my friends list that I've talked to and I know are mature enough to work as a team with some minor griping over some unknown randoms. People shouldn't have a hard time finding others for raids, Hence why matchmaking is pointless, it's called go to the tower make some friends who seem decent, and go from there.

Edited by Pacman: 8/30/2014 11:11:02 PMYea don't make It easier for any players no matter how much they bitch, it just means that players need to get stronger

I would like to know if raids will be necessary to unlock the different planets or if they can be skipped and the main story still completed. Does anyone know? Will I be able to play through all other content and choose not to take part in raids?
-
dumb ass how will people play raids if none of there friends are online? stupid people these days
-
Atleast there is no matchmaking so people will actually have to put in some effort to play them, which hopefully will filter all the serious players and troll players

Edited by FenrisAlpha: 8/29/2014 2:06:06 PMThis game has been developed to tell a story as Bungie likes to remind us on a constant basis. It's a game that is meant to be fun, entertaining and challenging but most of all I get the impression that the story is key to the developers. I'm not just talking about the story about the traveler and the darkness but the story we as users have for our characters. Your character is supposed to represent you, your personal flair, your choices, your dedication, YOUR SKILLS. The actions you take mold your guardian and there is a story to be told for every thing you do. Your weapons and armor tell tails about what you've done. And legends are told about those who attempt and/or complete raids. But raids can only be done by fire teams with the dedication and skills to get that far. Bungie never said this game was created for everyone to become the ultimate b.a.m.f., and I'm sure they apologize if they made anyone feel that way, but they have given everyone opportunity (even the slightest furthest possibility) of proving they are exactly that through blood sweat and tears. I am one of those who is unsure if I will ever have the team to even enter a raid. But I know that if I do and if I do well I will feel so accomplished that I did something that few will get to experience. That is an incredible thing to look forward to!

Bungie, Keep the game the way you made it, don't change it for the haters
also I keep hearing about a group trying to crash your servers, should realllllllly look into that
-
I'm with you 100% they made the game so people can play different ways so if you don't like it eat a dick

Raids should never had matchmaking. there are plenty of fireteam missions to run that have it. if you cannot make friends/ find solid team members running those/ grinding some gear out. then you don't need to be in a raid. they are most likely to challenging for you anyways. i can't begin to tell you how frustrating beta was running the fireteam to have 1 member not move from the start location, or to clueless to find the entrance... having to quit and find new members. with two friends, we could crush the place under 30 minutes. have a blast, get loot. people will be begging for BOOT TO KICK PLAYER in fireteams very soon... lol matchmaking for raids. lol.
-
Please... No nerfing! If a game is hard you grow and evolve through the challenge. We are friggin human-beings darn it! We can prevail guardians!! Also raid looks like some awesome stuff
-
Absolutely agree, hope Bungie doesn't do any nerfing even after the second raid is released and if they feel like they must for some reason change some things take another page out of WoW's book and make mm but for a dumbed down version with way more limited and worse quality gear I personally would rather not even have that implemented but I could settle if they think they absolutely must

Edited by Force58: 8/30/2014 2:23:40 PMThe only way this'll work then is to fix the ability to communicate in the game. It took forever to bring 1 person into my game during the beta, and even then we couldn't communicate either in-game or via Xbox One chat. Neither game chat or private worked in-game. It worked while we were both dashboarded, but not in the game. I read somewhere where Bungie decided to not allow verbal comms in Destiny. This is a monster mistake if its true for the final version. Cheers

Edited by KapinKrunch: 8/30/2014 2:35:40 PMDont worry they said it will be plenty difficult and take hours to finish. They said that people need to know what they are getting into before starting a raid. They did say there would be temporary checkpoints but you cant save and come back weeks later. http://youtu.be/L69hEdbjTmo

for those that want to find randoms...
