Wouldnt be cool if we can a huge public event.(like over 100 guardians fighting bigger than MAG if u know that game) our task would be to defend the wall of the last city on earth against a onslaught of fallen. Just wondering if anyone agrees.

Totally

Agreed. Tanks for suggestingggg they better do it.
-
And..... What if we lose? City gets overrun, and game over. I don't know, just throwing I out there.
-
The lag would be real

Thumbs up idea. Could make it like the Odin event in FFXIV. In that game the region in which he spawns turns to twilight with rain rising from the ground. We could have some sort of armada flying in the sky, that would send the alarm to the players to get their butt to the wall.

Its been discussed before. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/68355989

Great idea!

I think this would work amazingly in a sequel to destiny, where the player count could be expanded as old gen is left behind and the wall has expanded so that if it was broken into, you'd only lose a sector of the city. Stuff like that could work well with a countdown timer to the event. In this version of the game, I'm sad to say I don't see this as a possibility.

Sounds laggy lol

Yes It'd be so cool to be chilling at the tower when sirens suddenly go off There should be several circles that you need to go to to get transported to the event

Ahh MAG my favorite shooter of all time. I put over 3000 hours into that game. The best shooter Sony had and they never supported it what a shame.

That would be cool. MAG was such a fail. I wanted it work so bad...

Reminds me in a way of Planetside 1 and 2 with the numbers you are looking for. The difference is that we would be holding off MOBs and not other players. I know things like this were done in FFXI and many other games at this point to tell the truth. The problem I see with this is, what is the downside to failing? There has to be a consequence for not putting up a good enough effort. We can't very well lose the city as that would screw with the story and what not. However, if there is no real risk in not putting in the effort, why bother showing up? It has often been shown that people in general will not act in a timely manner to gain something extra so a simple rewards system is out. People will however fight hard to prevent the loss of something. The best way that I can easily think of doing something like this is to have it as a timed event set on a PVP map. Then tie something like XP rate or item rarity drop rate so successfully holding the area for a given amount of time. You get an alert in game and select the game mode from orbit just like any other.

Mag naahhh Get Bungie to make a Planet side 2 equivalent of destiny and you have 2 sides. 1 is player controlled fallen and the other are the guardians.
-
i would love to see this just thousands of fallen coming in and the guardians fighting against them that would be amazing
-
I was thinking the same exact thing
-
Sounds awesome you could see a ton of fire teams fight all over. Ships over head and sparrows flying around.
-
That would be epic.
