Ever hear the secret message in Mausoleum Suite from the Halo 2 soundtrack?

BaSsMaNiac07 here again, and just like the subject asks, have you ever heard the secret message in the song Mausoleum Suite from the Halo 2 soundtrack? If so then you know that the voice speaking in the song might be rubbish, correct? Well, no, if you play the song backwards and speed it up a little then it is a somewhat a secret message, and a new peice to the puzzle concerning the Forerunners and the Flood, and the Halo 3 terminals and what they read. Anyways the video link(s) I'm about to show you, tell about the message of the song played backwards. The person "chanting" in the song could be a Forerunner, a member of the Flood, Meciadant Bias, Gravemind, or any other character revealed in the Halo series. Not to mention "The Coin". Anyways the first video I will show is the original song played, then it played in reverse and sped up a little bit, also their a brief explenation in the directors note along with the video. Click! for the secret! And if you weren't so clear on the message, the same director made another video to help some of the viewers who confused, etc,etc.... Again click! But for the help video if you were confused about the first! NOTE:If you are still confused, or unable to guess what went on in the previous videos then take a look at this more detailed one. Best, detailed video! I advise watching this one! *Video submitted by The new dude *Video uploaded by JabBauer at www.gametrailers.com If you are not able to see the video for what ever reason, or if you are just lazy to watch, when you reverse the song this is what this person chants in the song: I have walked among men and Angels, for 3,000 years. Time has no end, no beginning, no purpose. I wander the earth, seeking forgiveness for my horrible crimes against God, and man. I live to see death, destruction, evil over the light. But the light cannot be extinguished. I live in the prison of my own demise. I am lost in time. Anyways, those are the videos, and to me I think this is a peice of the puzzle to solve the mystery of the Forerunners/Flood conflict. I have also been told that some easter eggs in Halo 3 are also peices to the puzzle. As to the Da Vinci Easter Egg found on Sandtrap, etc. Special Thanks to Bungie.net, YouTube.com, CrispyGFX, and all of you fellow Halo 3 players! I would also like to hear all of your opinions on this video and suggestions to whom you think the person speaking in the video could be, by the words he/she uses or the tone of which he/she speaks. Thanks for reading! ~Wes. [Edited on 02.04.2008 7:45 PM PST]

 • I think I've found something else out. Or have another clue. I was telling my friend about the topic I posted and he told me that if you reverse the song and put 3x speed on it and the voice sounds more like a low Cortana or Johnson. At first I thought my friend was wasted or an idiot, but then again I thought about how the voice would change if it was in 3x or 4x speed and also in reverse. But you know...who knows right?

 • Maybe this is old news, and not to get off-subject here, but, ever turn the volume way up during Assault on the Control Center's last interior scenes ? There are some backwards (lowered) incantations. Anyone ever record and play those ?

 • has any one read the time travel theory it says Mendicant Bias is the forerunner that brings MC back in time to save them from the flood but he keeps messing up in the short time he is given to stop them so he has lived for 3000 years and he has died and seen god the angles are the forerunners and the men (well men) he is looking for forgiveness because he probably got some one innocent killed by going back in time

 •
Posted by: Noodleboy111 I could of sworn I remember Marty dismissing it as total BS... maybe on the Legendary edition? All I know is that it's pretty much pointless crap.
That is not true! If you read all the Terminals, then this message has everything to do with the terminals and Halo 4. Maybe back during Halo 2 this was nothing, but now it is, all because of Bungie. :) Thanks!

 • Hmmm, good thought, but as I said in the last page... Didact, Gravemind, and M.Bias are the 3 possibilities to be the person chanting in the video. (Look on last page for evidence).

 •
Posted by: Spocky730 1. Can't be "the Coin"- reason: The "Coin" was a coin that John 117 (MC) won from Doctor Hasley in The Fall of Reach. Cortana makes a reference to it somewhere in the game. 2. Gravemind- reason: Gravemind never walked the Earth. He went to the Ark in one of the lvs. (The Covenent) To also stop Truth from firing the Halo rings. 3. Medicant Bias- reason: .... It could be him..... but he floats as he is an oracle and is in hiding I think. 4. New idea: The Librarian?: In the Terminals a discussion is going on between a couple people, The Librarian and the D something. Gravemind and Medicant Bias, and someone else. The Librarian has interest in the Humans saying that their time of greatness will come so she saves them before the Halo rings are first fired in the Forrunner war. Although I heard that the Libarian is a girl so... it could be the D person...
Mendicant Bias is an AI probably similar to Cortana IMO and the D person is Didact and i think it is Gravemind saying those thiings

 • Well thank you every one for responding with your marvelous ideas and thoughts. Now the speaker in the song could be Didact again because, although he died by the firing of the Halo rings, we never know on what time Bungie intended to make the chant upon. Basically saying (In the Halo saga), the reversed chanting in the song could date back to a long time ago, preferably close to Didact's death. But none the less, the slow, regular speed of the reversed song does indeed ound like Gravemind, and also M.Bias is an even stronger possibility. But for right now the 3 others that could be the person speaking is Didact, M.Bias, and Gravemind. :) See! We narrowed down over hundreds of Halo characters to about 3. Also to the thought of Bungie making a Halo 4. Of coarse they are! They wouldn't reveal the terminals, this song, and all these clue-revealing easter eggs just for the fun of it! (Although Frankie might have something to do with the "Guy jumping in boxers on the level", Halo easter egg.) I'm glad more people replied, and hopefully in a couple of days we can get alot more others, and maybe some Bungie members to see our progress. :)

 • Just wanted to add that both Didact and Librarian were both probably human. Two reasons for this are that they, unlike all the oracles we have heard of and seen, have only one name. As opposed to "Guilty Spark," "Penitant Tangent," "Mendicant Bias." Also through the terminals we see that they certainly have feelings and emotions which are probably not something we would associate with oracles. I also believe that, assuming Mendicant Bias was built to oversee and manage the Ark or similar facility, that he feels the need to come forward for what ALL the monitors have done. I believe that all the monitors of the installations decided to activate the rings. I base this on the fact that they all have names pertaining to having done a wrong deed. Guilty = Guilty. Penitant = Repentant, disposed to atonement. Mendicant = Beggar or begging. So perhaps for some reason he has decided to achieve atonement through Master Chief as he does say he wants atonement from the reclaimer. Now a lot of you will find holes in this. That is to be expected. We will all find holes in each others theories. Just for fun for those who don't believe there will be a Halo 4. Die Hard was called a trilogy for a long time, then we got 4.0. Rocky and Star Wars were trilogies until further films came out. So you never know. Good thread. Keep it up. Just had a new thought. In Fall of Reach in one of the chapters. When Captain Keyes and the Iroquois are in orbit around Sigma Octanus IV, they receive orders to get to Reach. "When it was close enough it extended tiny electromagnets that attached it to the Iroquios." "The object opened a single photo eye and gazes at the stars." When it reached critical energy it would eject a tiny sliver of thallium nitride memory crystal and it would intercept a covenant receiver in the alternate space." "The tiny automated probe would reveal every place the Iroquios had been." Pages 215 - 216. In the last terminal Mendicant Bias says that Chief doesn't know the trouble he had to go through to follow him here. The description in the book certainly sounds like an oracle but could be a simple information gathering probe. Just more to think about I guess. [Edited on 02.04.2008 9:47 AM PST]

 • I can see a strong relation between Mendicant Bias and Gravemind. If Gravemind can exist together with Cortana, he can exist with MB. I believe Gravemind could very well be MB. Cursed for his sins, becoming the gravemind, or at least one with the gravemind.

 • There could be a Halo 4 in theory, but all these clues and mysteries are next to pointless now that the main conflict(s) have ended.

 • With all of these mysteries, why do people think Halo 4 won't happen? Bungie didn't put them there for nothing.

Or Mecidant Bias as he attacked Forrunner.
I live to see death, destruction, evil over the light.
Mecidant Bias succeeded in Killing many a Forrunner. Gravemind brought destruction to many a world.
But the light cannot be extinguished.
The Human light can't be extinguished.
I live in the prison of my own demise.
Gravemind Cortana keeps saying that this will be your grave. Mecidant Bias at one point or another says it. A thing that many don't know or have left out. Durring the Forrunner war there was an even bigger Gravemind, shocking I know. That gravemind was starved to death by the Halo rings because all of the food, Forrunners, were dead and all that was left was AI. So more than likely it could be Gravemind as we are told that a new one developed only around 3000-4000 years ago. It couldn't be any AI as all of them have been around for Many hundreds of thousends of years. Gravemind is the likely choice but I don't know why he is lamenting in one of the stanzas. That's my take on the situation.

I wander the earth, seeking forgiveness for my horrible crimes against God, and man. I live to see death, destruction, evil over the light. But the light cannot be extinguished. I live in the prison of my own demise. I am lost in time.
Ok, I just had this pure random thought that went through my head. So, don't go all crazy on me, call me names or calling me a noob or just stupid because of my random theory. This is my theory and even if it might sound stupid maybe it would help someone else to think of something. Ok, here it goes... To begin with I think whoever is speaking might be John himself. ( Master Chief), and the reason is because I believe it all a cycle. Again this is just my theory and its just random, yes I know. At first it wont make sense but later it will.
I have walked among men and Angels, for 3,000 years.
Remember that guilty spark told John, he is Forerunner.
I wander the earth, seeking forgiveness for my horrible crimes against God, and man.
This I still don't know about
I live to see death, destruction, evil over the light.
obviously he watches the destruction of the flood and that it cant be stop.
But the light cannot be extinguished.
It cant be stop, since its going to keep on forever.
I live in the prison of my own demise.
Its John's prison because everything keeps repeating over and over again. Ok so let me explain now that everything you have just read makes no sense to you. So, we finish Halo 3 and we know that on the end we see that cortana and John didn't make it while they were in the portal, and now they are lost in space heading to an unknown planet which many believe its going to be the next Marathon. If this were true, does it mean that he some how went back in time and since he is staring from Marathon does it mean that he is next going to go to Halo then Halo 2 then to Halo 3. If all of this is true it means that he again is going to be in the portal and start over again and its going to be a cycle. Now going back to to the message in the soundtrack that he has walk over man and angels for 3,000 years because of the cycle, and has live to see the destruction over and over again. but the light cant be extinguish because of the repeating of time and its his demise since it cant be stop. So there, go crazy about theory been wrong.....even thought I think it was pretty good. : )
I wrote this theory quite a while back but in greater detail. Lazy Linked The whole Marathon connection is something people are making out of nothing. Bungie has officially stated that the Marathon man is not Master Chief and the two different stories take place in two separate gaming universes. I do not have the link, however I believe it is located somewhere in my link. Here is the basic idea of my theory: Master Chief is sent back in time my MB. MC fights the flood or some other ancient enemy of the Forerunner. MC meets 343 and that is why he is called a Forerunner and 343 appears to know him and does not realize that MC actually traveled through time. The Forerunner know that humans are "special" because of MC and his sacrifice to help save them in one way or another, prompts the Forerunner to make the human race thier Reclaimers. Just a side note, humans are more than likely not directly Forerunner. This is evidenced by a picture of a Forerunner hand scanner that has 6 elongated fingers and palm that was discovered in Halo 2. I'm sure if you really wanted to you can find this evidence somewhere. Now, back to the main topic. I somewhat agree that this appears to be MB, although the Halos were fired at about 97446 BC according to the time we were given since the "event" during IRIS. So 3000 years is a short time compared to when the Halos were fired. Maybe it was an oversight by Bungie or maybe it is someone else. Maybe the AI from ILoveBees. I doubt it is the Librarian and the Halowiki is a bad source of info as is any wiki sight. I could easily change all the information on that sight to fit my theory perfectly even though it isn't true. There is no proof to show that the Librarian is a construct. To the contrary, Didact activates the Ark and we know from Halo 3 that only someone with the correct gene can activate it. If Didact was an Oracle, he would not be able to do so.
