  • Sigh. This gets REALLY tiresome. I own both consoles, and both are very good..and the differences between the are slight...at best. They are simply targetd at different audiences. Sony very smartly designed the PS4 to meet the needs of the young gamer. Especially if their console isn't on the main family TV. Everything is streamlined around gaming, and providing as many games as possible...at as low a cost. But the PS4 has a pitiful selection of apps to choose from and is clunky to use for anything other than gaming. Microsoft, did a very good job of designing (though not in marketing) the XB1 to the older-or-adult gamer. Whose console is likely to be attached to a TV that is shared with other people. Despite some voice-control glitches. The XB1 does a VERY good job of coordinating and making easily available a wide range of entertainment options. In addition to being a powerful gaming platform. I can go from playing a game, to streaming YouTube Videos, to playing music, to watching streamed movies or on blu-ray....without having to get out of my chair or go looking for a remote. I can control just about evey component in my home theater through the XB1...and with voice commands. In fact...if it weren't for the fact that PS had several exclusives that I wanted to play....I would have been VERY content to an owner of an XB1 and never bothered to buy a PS4.
