Like starfox! Would make a hell of a lot of sense since we know bungie can definitely do flight combat ie (HALO) Like how about a couple space maps that are massive and have a couple landmarks like space stations or asteroid belts or maybe even a map that revolves around the moon or is atleast in between the moon and earth.
IT WOULD MAKE BUYING A DOPE SHIP MORE PRACTICAL and would give us reasons to have different ships. I know I've seen blasters and missile launcher packages on ships. I know they're only aesthetic at the moment but you could have like a small skill tree for each ship kinda like you do for the guns? Like more damage or blasters do certain damage. Or even blaster upgrades kinda like in metroid when you get split blasters that shoot three or wavy blasters or freezing blasters. And you could have a couple different missile types like cluster or singularity bombs or seeking. All I'm sayin is I know this would be a lot to do but it would make Destiny a whole lot more complete if we had ship on ship combat. AND I KNOW YOU GUYS COULD TOTALLY DO IT! especially since the same system that you use for weapons and gear applys to how you create the ships. just THINK about how insanely SICK that would be?!
-
Also when getting to a destination, you randomly encounter enemy ships, and possibly hidden missions depending on your destination. But its still entirely random so it enhances replayability
-
nobrainer!
-
I'm totally in board for this.
-
Oh hells yes
-
I like the idea.
-
Yeah would be awesome but did your parents never teach you that I want doesn't get

I hate space battles. Go play eve
-
I like the idea- maybe it could be in an expansion pack later on? It'd make for good raids.
-
Ship battles no,but ship raids where you watch a cut scene of our ships attacking and boarding a huge vessel....yes,now that sounds new fun IMO.
-
No we don't want this
-
Just no
-
Actually no we don't
-
Bungie has said from the beginning that Destiny will not be about ship combat. I like the idea of a pvp map in a broken ship, though.
-
what's the point of buying ships then?
-
The team behind Destiny gave it a lot of thought and consideration while developing the game. But in the end, they felt that they didn't have a way to make a space flight system that would be consistently entertaining. They haven't given up the idea yet, but they decided to focus on more core mechanics for the time being.

Edited by DownwardSpyril: 8/29/2014 1:44:36 PMBungie makes it a stand-alone DLC. If you want get it. If you don't want it...then don't get it. The whole premise behind destiny is different types of gameplay to satisfy a larger spectrum of gamers. The addition of such a mode of play would be just an extension of that vision. I would not mind playing. In addition to FPS...I also enjoy flight sims. ...and yes, there is never too much Star Wars when we are talking space combat.
-
People in hell want ice water....
-
No "We" don't. You do. Because i don't want a star wars simulator.
-
NO WE DONT! If I wanted to play that type of game I would not buy a fps.
-
We?..you have a mouse in your pocket?
-
-
It'd be great if they added firefights and it was just pong
-
Just get No Man's Sky when it comes out if you want space combat.
-
Look at this from a lore perspective... The reason we have the crucible is for practice... the reason we have ships is for travel... So practice fighting with something that was never meant to fight in the first place is just dumb...
-
You want this, i dont. Stop saying "we" its just you.
