I understand what your trying to do, but I really loved that even though I was a warlock I could use whatever weapon I felt like using that day. Some days I wanted to get up close and blow things away with an auto rifle. Other days it was more entertaining to sit back and use my scout rifle. On a side note, I felt like bungie did this to a degree. The armor we wore had different abilities some of which gave us boosts for a particular weapon. Now, I only played the warlock but it seemed to me that most of the armor that I had helped pulse rifles more than any other gun. Maybe it was a coincidence, but i could see bungie adding in that kind of thing. Maybe they have set weapons in mind for certain classes, and they will give more frequent boots on your armor toward those weapons. Boosts for other weapons will come along as well, just not quite as frequent. Side side note, i wouldn't mind the races doing something. They don't do a whole lot in my opinion. I choose a human just because i didn't care. Giving each character some small boost seems interesting. Like they did in skyrim. Something not game breaking but just adds a little pizazz.

  • I completely understand. I'm not trying to take away any of that from you. I'm not at all saying you couldn't use an auto-rifle. I'm saying, if anything, your warlock would be better with a Pulse Rifle than anyone else, and blowing people away with an Auto Rifle would be a Titan's thing. I completely understand the different feels thing, although when I wanted a different feel in the Beta I used another character. I thought Bungie might've done it at first, but much of the armors I got for all of my classes were mismatched. I'd have bonuses for Pulse Rifles on a Titan, on my hunter I had upgrades for all three, etc. Although bonuses on clothes (like all of the clothes for a class buff one type of weapon, or the types of weapon that that class specializes in) is one of the ways you could go about adding the class specific bonuses. The difference from what it is now is that it wouldn't be mismatched, maybe there would be an endgame set or two for each other weapon, or how ever Bungie decided to designate it. On your side note, I felt the same way, I just wanted a class push there too. I explained it more in a reply, but essentially how I had it was like some kind of speed or precision boost for humans, reduced cooldowns for warlocks, and extra health/armor for exos. Stuff that made sense for the race, worked for every class, but kinda nudged towards the respective class.
