Others on this post: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/65349153/0/0, have suggested Bungie add a option to pre-order Split Screen so that they can know upfront that there is demand and that they have an economic incentive to commission work on it. So what do you think, how much would you pay for Split Screen?
-
i'm sure as hell not gonna pay for split-screen, that's -blam!-ing retarded
-
Nice to see that the majority don't want split screen. Can we please shut up about it now.
-
Split screen is dead because it sucks!
-
Wheres the "More than $60" to NOT put it in the game button?
-
I will pay Bungie $50 to not put it in.

Edited by Joaquin Dead: 8/23/2014 7:57:58 AMYou wanna know how much you should pay for split screen? First you're gonna need 2 PS4s or Xbox Ones so $800.00 plus tax. As well as 2 copies of Destiny 120.00 - 300.00 depending on version plus tax. And a HDMI split screen processor like this one Gra-Vue MIO MVS-4HDMI Mini HDMI Input Multi-Viewer with DVI Output 1599.99 So approximately 2500 bucks plus tax. As well as all the other gameplay elements of Destiny that wouldn't lend itself to split screen which I've commented to in length before. But all of that should be free or we just dramatically lower the visual quality as well of much of the features that make Destiny so damn compelling for everyone because of this absurd request. Don't answer I already know your reply this is just for everyone else who agree's with me. That just happens to be the majority of players and Bungie itself. #SeeOneOfYouStarsideAtATime

I think there should be split screen. But I won't pay for that. Its not a mechanic I would use, but I'm not going to say it shouldn't be in the game. Because apparently it will be useful to a lot of other ppl. If it is added, I think it should be free

This game will be a huge blockbuster regardless of the lack of split screen. I actually canceled my preorder when I found out. I need games that I can play with my wife and son...
-
Are you -blam!-ing serious right now? Change.org? You're going a whole extra level beyond #FirstWorldProblems.
-
Thank you for making this poll it shows that only 12 percent of people voting really want split screen
-
Let me ask you this. If Bungie gave you another answer would you: A) cancel your preorder B) still play C) make another complaint about there response.
-
Split screen should not be implemented in Destiny at all.
-
Pass the controller, stop crying about split-screen... DeeJ already told us the reasons why there is no split-screen, it made sense. Buy diablo if you want a great co-op game to play with your mates.
-
No thanks, I'd rather not be tethered to someone else, regardless of who they are.
-
No one in my family does split screen. Even then the more fun filled split screen games are given by Nintendo (at least in our opinion).
-
Nothing. My friend can just bring his system over and hook up to my spare 40 inch TV.
-
52% of the poll doesn't think there should be split screen, I'm one of those.

I don't think there should be a split-screen in Destiny. To be fair, I'd love to play it locally with a friend and it would be great fun. But it is an MMO with a huge world. There's just no need for it. Regular shooters and adventure games can manage with split-screen because there's actually not too much happening on the screen at the same time that can confuse you. In Destiny there is. More enemies, more strategy, more talk. Half a screen would only make it a lot harder and annoying to play. I'd still do it if it were available, but Bungie chose not to put it in the game. They're the experts here, I think we can trust them on their decision. Also if you look how other games have implemented Split Screen, like going Halo, CoD, Portal, the Lego games, Splinter Cell... there are always rough patches with them. Either you can't see enough on screen and die easier, you look at the wrong screen and die or you get the classic Screen Looking. Maybe not a big deal in Destiny, but it's very dangerous during missions or such. Destiny is a lot more "serious" than Halo. You simply need your entire screen to play the best.

Realistically I don't want split screen for destiny for a multitude of reasons. 1) destiny is too pretty to split screen I'd rather it in all it's glory I do t want to share. 2) the character progression, A) I don't want a mate over using my alt and messing with the skills and weapons that I have se the way I like. Also from what I've heard we are capped at three characters at a time, even if we're not capped I'd rather not be limited to my mate only being able to play his warlock at my place. 3) bandwidth. Some places (like where I live) have pretty average internet split screen will increase the load and cause lag and a messed up ping in the crucible. 4) can either system be logged in to multiple psn's or live accounts at the same time for progression. I'd also not like having a mate come over and completely mess up my KD ratio (I can do that myself thank you very much) There are more but it's 3:27am here and I should have been asleep hours ago.

Split screen wouldnt work ... buy a second console and tv .. out it in next room or what not and play ... Pro for normal screen -- Actually being able to see what the hell your firing at .. and the abilty to see names of items and what not .. as text gets shrunk like a bugger in split screen

Split screen would cause tons of problems for a game like this. Personally i can care less if it is implemented or not. But if for some reason they did, how would customization, classes, stats, skill trees, armor, and weapons work. Would the best weapons and armor just randomly appear for your guest to destroy everything with his default max level or would he be stuck with the worst of weapons at the lowest level whenever your guest happens to play, which will probably cause you or the people your playing with in the crucible to be handicapped and probably cost them the game. I can only really see it happening if you could log into your account on another person's system at the same time as the systems owner and have your character transferred over for a short period time. That would still leave character slot issues, assuming someone is using all 3 slot. Not to mention split screen limits how much you can see, so you can miss things and destiny seems to be heavy on discovering new areas.

It would have a massive drawback. When the game has to load different areas, different interactions with other real time events and people, it requires twice the processing. Which would mean bad latency, tethers, more loading, etc. They would have to completely redesign the game to handle it, and I can promise you, it would be a very different game. If you interact with another player, and your other half of the screen interacts with another on the opposite side of the map, it must now process both of those instead of one.

How much I WOULD pay is a lot, but it should be free
-
Nothing because I don't like sharing my screen, makes me feel that I'm missing part of the details in campaign.
