Is anyone else worried about CoD fanboys ruining Destiny?
I've always hated the Call of Duty community. It's full of Hackers, 7 year-old kids talking smack, and a lot of frustration. When I talked to them about their thoughts on Destiny, a lot said they would play it. Not to generalize the community as a whole, but I don't want my Destiny Crucible experience to be like a normal CoD BOII or Ghosts session. Anyone else feel the same?

I say there's nothing to fear. Most of Bungies games are too long and complex for the average cod players brains handle. Plus they'll have there fix of regurgitated nonsense every year to keep them occupied.

Its a lot easier for younger kids to get into rather then a game with higher skill curve like halo or imo destiny, I think there's a higher skill curve in destiny then cod. So maybe you won't run into as many as you think cause they will stick with dumb cod.

I see the slow fade of CoD into the background as a good thing. The premises of the game were beginning to be abused and evolving into a culture more closely related to gangs than to clans or imitations of veterans. Who can deny the declining respect and consideration of others displayed by children as well as grown adults? Destiny holds a ray of light that will hopefully produce better vision in our society as a whole and as individuals. My hat is off in humility and respect to Bungie for taking the high ground when all of gaming has been challenged to do the same. Now, if only the rest would follow the example being set.

Really we only need to worry about them trashing these forums for now, once the newish CoD is out they'll be pissing all over themselves playing it while those who know better will stay in Destiny

unlikely , this game has things your average cod fanboy doesn't know or care to understand ,stat based gear and abilities , making different builds to react to different situations etc... , in short , most of them will fail to grasp the strategy and patience need to play games that have rpg elements. half or more of them will return to their sinking ship of a franchise that is kept on life support only by the way too generous donations they give them when they buy those reskinned map packs and weapons ....

If there is anything I learned about CoD fanboys...they get interested for maybe at most...a month or two? then completely abandon the game to go play CoD because it isn't "as fun" in their standards.

Didn't destiny get rated t for teen and cod is m for mature so I'm guessing there will be a lot more kids on destiny. Why would cod fanboy ruin the game are they not allowed to play any thing else

If they talk smack, mute them. If they play like crap, or selfishly, switch to another fireteam. You choose who is a part of your experience. You. You know what I do to kids? The thing grown ups are supposed to do: ignore them and let their lousy parents deal with the lack of discipline. They can't ruin Destiny for me as I still play CoD (yes, judge me) and still send them crying to bed after that a$$ whoop. ;) oh and Bungie is probably on top of their game watching for hacking activity, don't worry. It's the least thing expectable.

I saw a COD player play destiny: [b]NEVER[/b] using his super and if he did he would use it on one person Would rage that golden gun is too OP Got mad every time he switch his weapon that the ammo would disappear He thought it was unfair that he couldn't play crucible as soon as he play the game Only played once in explore If this is how all COD players play destiny then destiny will not live long.

I feel the same but if the usual thing happens with those kids then once they get destiny they will play it for a few weeks then go right back to cod so the only days we really need to watch our backs is the week it releases and especially Christmas time I have an 8 year old step bro he has a lot of friends that are this exact way

I don't think it should be a big problem. I've put many hours into Call of Duty so know how the multiplayer community is like. But I didn't let the people effect the way I enjoyed the game. That's what a mute button if for. And as for some of the people saying that if they see one quick scope they're gone quit. That's a silly excuse. I don't quick scope or 360 or anything but c'mon, it's not that big of a deal. :)
