I am 38 and I have been playing video games longer than most of you have been alive. I see everyone telling their age which seems to be the early 20s for the most part. Most everyone I know does not playing video games, but I have not been this excited about a game since Halo 2 or KOTOR. Anyone else in the same boat?
Edit: I am amazed at all the responses. Thank you all. See all of you on the 9th. Xbox One: pepelewe

45 myself and have been into games since I had to stand on a box to play Space Invaders down at my local arcade in the late 70's. I have been looking forward to playing Destiny as it will be the last game I buy for my 360 before I move on to the next generation next year but I tend not to get too excited about games as much nowadays, maybe I'm getting a little jaded in my old age. Halo 3 was why I bought my 360 and Destiny will be its swansong so thank you Bungie, it really has been a pleasure.

Edited by Khal VRani: 8/21/2014 7:21:07 PM36. Been playing games ever since I can remember. And I fully plan on playing them until I'm dead. Edit: My wife tells me it's a huge waste of time. I tell her it's a free therapy session... usually does the trick.

I'm 41, first game Pong in 1978(if my nurse recalls correctly) and still here, excited for Destiny, not been so excited for a game since the original AC. Don't worry 36% of gamers are 30+ yo, we are in good company...

To answer the question in the title: I'm pretty sure it happened between '00 and '10. I'm pretty sure we were young and hip through the 90s, but then we hit the middle third of our 30s and the kids started making up their own referents that became popular and ours became age-restricted. Either that or it happened in an instant when Mike D died. Either way, it's definitely happened

You have no idea what old is :-) 51

42. Right there with ya. It's pretty cool though to be this excited about a game. It been a long time since I felt this way. Almost makes me feel like a snot-nosed, naive, childish 20-something again. 😏

30 here, gaming for about 25 years. Just like you, I'm as hyped as can be. Literally every single game I own has bored me ever since the beta ended. it's been a long time since something like that has happened. Also, pretty much every man I know, around my age, still plays games. Some women too btw.

I've been gaming for the last 22 of my 24 years. Started on the odyssey and then moved to the Atari 2600, the Commodore 64, then the mac, then nes, snes, game boy, n64, game boy color, sega genesis, play station 1 and 2, a pc, Xbox and Xbox 360, and then finally the 3ds that I just got this year. Most of the above I bought for myself too, so I'm not some bratty child, I baby sat, mowed lawns, etc to afford it myself.

38 here and I've been playing since I was about 7. I've got a few friends my age that are as much into gaming as I am. I honestly cannot recall the last time I was this excited for a game release. The hype train is heading straight to the moon at light speed on this one and I'm loving it.
