Like I can't be the only one seeing this right?
Like each class is based off a Star Wars character
hunter-Han Solo, Boba Fett
Warlock-Jedi
Titan-Stormtroopers
Then all the spaceships and even the flying from planet to planet is right out if Star Wars and Star Trek. Most of the ships can have a Star Wars or Star Trek origin. The hyper space is a mix of Star Wars and Star Treks.
Even the story is based off Star Wars
Destiny- 1) Golden Age
2) bad guy came good guys barely won
3) bad guy thought to be beaten but Is coming back
4) chosen one must beat evil
Star Wars(old republic)- 1) peaceful time
2) bad guy came good guys barely won
3) bad guy comes back(new republic Darth Sidious)
4 chosen one must beat evil
There's a lot more Star Wars here but the Star Trek is there too. A lot of the ships look like there from Star Trek and in Star Trek you beam down from the ship, kinda like In destiny you teleport off the ship. Also the bad guys In Star Trek resemble the ones we see in destiny, maybe not physically but definitely do
Cling on- pirate type people- The Fallen
Borg- robots that try to take over universe- Hive
Cabal- honestly I think they're original.....
Hive- through back to flood still not original though

You got that wrong titan has more of the bounty hunter feel they have the jet pack jump and the hunter I would say more of a smuggler type feel if you going to compare Titian to army make it the 501st at least god damn
-
Ok. We didn't "barely win". We barely survived. Yeah sure the hunters have a bounty hunter type feel but I see in know way how warlocks and titans are like the jedi and stormtroopers. (i for one actually hit my target) non of those star trek references even make sense.
-
Uhh i dont see a lot of the comparisons you are making but i agree that it has some influence from the star wars universe, sparrows are very similar to speeder bikes from star wars.. And good on them, great sci fi universe to take ideas from. But id also say there was some influence from mass effect, and mass effect in turn had some star wars influence. All in all these are good ideas that deserved to be preserved in modern movies and games so i say no foul.

1 ReplySomeone who types "like" in his sentences must be "like" so smart!

2 RepliesEver noticed how many dumb threads there are about comparing games to destiny?? Really?? Omglmafo no way I thought I was the only guy. Well it's official this Is the worst comparison ever right next to bioshock being a write off of destiny. Congrats kid here's a purple dinosaur.
-
1 ReplyHave you noticed the borderlands parallels?
-
Nope. (•‿•)
-
Yeah I forgot that influences are not allowed when creating something.
-
Well, star wars is set back in the past, but in a different solar system. And there's zero space combat in Destiny, hell, you can't even manually fly. Plus, the guardian classes may look a tiny bit like some Star Wars characters, but the guardians have space magic and have bullet weapons. I'm not being a defensive fanboy here, I'm just saying that Bungie didn't exactly copy Star Wars
-
Took inspiration...did not copy.
-
The way you spelt 'Klingon' makes me want to punch a baby >:-(
-
I don't see any lightsabers in Destiny....
-
2 RepliesWell every single sifi ever made from now until the end of time will be copying them sooo What's your point? Plus, Warlocks aren't like the Jedi at all. And the story plots? Don't get me started on all the stuff Lucas copied to create Star Wars!
-
4 RepliesTitan- knight Hunter- rogue Warlock- wizard And the plot describes like every other movie/ book out there. This game is not copying Star Wars or Star Trek. And the hive rant even close to the Borg. The Borg r like cyborgs and the hive is more of a zombie like race
-
Yeah, that's just the melodrama formula.
-
2 Repliestitans are stormtroopers? huh? lmao have u seen star wars? stormtroopers drop if u breathe on them. titans have great armor so theyd be more close to being an AT-AT lmao
-
1 ReplyYou do know that bungie wanted to make a universe as big as star wars. They had inspiration from it and if you see the ALS challenge, one of the people they challenged was George Lucas.
-
2 Replies#Offtopic getting boring for you since the site update? 0/10

Your right, taking inspiration from classic Sci Fi fi films is something destiny does

Everything has come from something. The thing is to make it your own and improve on past ideas and experiences.
-
And Warhammer 40k.
-
And Star Wars is a rip off from The Hidden Fortress. Google 10 Unbelievable Movie Rip-Offs.

Cling on- pirate type people- The Fallen
I think you might cling onto your ideas a little too much

2 RepliesSorry if you explained this later in your post but when i saw Hunters = Boba fett i stopped reading, Boba fett is famous for no reason he is awful at his job and accomplishes nothing ever like not even once he can't even do his 1 job what is with that fan boy love of this dude he is like a FBI agent who can't climb a 4 foot fence nuff said

1 ReplyYou nailed it. Just drop the mic and walk off stage. Peace.
