SImple...if its used in matchmaking to get an upperhand on your oponent then YES it is cheating.

Actually, I used to have three quotes in my sig from Bungie folks (Frankie, Sketch, and Achronos, I believe) (edit:^^^^ that was one of them ^^^^) who stated taking advantage of a glitch and exploiting it in matchmaking was, in fact, cheating. This included super bouncing, BXR, BXB, etc. Regardless, I always reported every person who did it, and I suggest everyone else still playing H2 to do the same. [Edited on 02.01.2008 8:41 AM PST]

No they did NOT say it was ok. They said they couldn't ban you automatically for it. The glitch does not even occur under PAL-50 video standards, which a lot of people used at the time. Which means not everyone can even do it.

they said super bouncing is ok why you ask because its to wide spread and its to hard to catch people doing it also every1 in the game can do it so pretty much you dont have much of a choice but to take time and learn it..... but you should proly be playin h3 not h2 but whatever floats your boat i guess

Superbouncing is cheating in Halo 2.

All of you who said no are wrong. It is cheating, it has been expressly stated by bungie staff on several occasions. That overrules the ancient and terribly out of date FAQ that bounce supporters always quote which simply says it wasn't BANNABLE at the time.
