WHY SET LIMIT ON SOLAR SYSTEM? I mean wouldn't be bad to have a space saga that spans light-years from the brim of the Milky Way to that great big titty in the middle of those shiny sparklies at the center of the galaxy =)

We might go beyond the system in destiny two remember its after the fall of the gold age and all we got at best is short range jump ships we need to retake ground and develop a stronger power base before going farther or our resources might get stretched to thin and we lose because we reached to far to fast and were unprepared for the greater horrors beyond our system
-
Because the mass relays have yet to be found. Duh.
-
Its pretty common this happens to most games, the lore holds back potential. The darkness is currently in our solar system we lost all golden age technology, and we have to protect earth so there is no real reason to go to other solar systems maybe in destiny 2 who knows.

3 RepliesYou realize our galaxy's core consists of nothing but black holes and dying stars right?
-
1 ReplyEver thought that maybe they broke the game down into these elements: Game 1. Reclaim what we lost Game 2. Take the fight to them Game 3. Explore the far reaches of space cuz there is always something worse than the darkness. And yes, I understand that they want to build on top of each release instead of recreate. They did say that you could be playing destiny 2 on earth in the wild and run into someone who is still playing destiny 1.

Three words friend, business, marketing, and best of all money.

The solar system is pretty big, I wouldn't exactly call it "limiting". I think the main reason for the decition is familiarity, we all know most of the locations in our solar system, I'd rather fight for my home than some place I found.
-
Apparently there are already aliens on the moon of Phobos. Lets go!!!
-
1 ReplyOur solar system has a lot of locations if ya think about it. There Saturn's 60 something moons. The Milky Way, The Astroid Belt, Neptune, Pluto, maybe even the sun.
-
Because they have already have a canvas the size of a solar system to work with. Just because they only let us explore so much of a planet doesn't mean they won't release more areas in the future.
-
Rocket fuel is pretty expensive....

-
Would be nice to have some DUST 514 elements
-
Because, good sir, we only intend to reclaim what the Darkness has taken from us. Besides, the Solar System is a big place

They allready have what is it a 10 year plan .. so its probbaly gonna span out to other places over time ...

3 RepliesThis is not the game you are looking for... Move along to Elite Dangerous...
-
It should be called JUMP'N'SHOOTMAN! What do you do? Jump'n'shoot.
-
I guess it all depends on how popular the game is in real life. If this turns into the major game series that Bungie hopes then who knows how far we may end up travelling.
-
3 RepliesHey you cant expect much from a game that launches on both gens!
-
Edited by BootySweat1969: 8/18/2014 6:20:41 PMWe have one last city probably lets say 2 million pop. Enemy forces surround us, and not everyone In the city can fight, with the only friend we have the traveler being crippled. Yah I don't see why we can't ventureout our soloar system with our salvaged space ship. Lmao Plus our solar system is massive 9 planets, countless moons, 2 astroid belts plenty of room to expand
-
Don't ya think we have to secure our own system before heading out into the darkness?
-
1 ReplyBuy no mans sky when it comes out. That will have infinite solar systems
-
This isn't that game. Get over it. I think you're looking for No Mans Sky.
-
2 RepliesI don't expect it to be in the first game but I hope we go to other star systems and extrasolar planets in the 2nd or 3rd game. By that point we could have pushed the darkness back out of our system and are still pushing it back. I can't even begin to fathom how awesome a foreign planet created only on bungies imagination would be. It would look amazing I'm sure.

We are told by the speaker that "we knew our Destiny was to walk in the light of other stars." this is probably just the beginning.
