I don't hate MLG.
But I do find it hilarious when it's described as a "sport".
It's about as much of a sport as competitive eating is.

Competitive eating exists? XD
-
Apparently!!!
-
Well, a sport is merely a competition for a prize. So in that sense it's no less of a sport than poker or cheerleading. Blah blah blah, so on... so forth....
-
Have you actually seen competitive cheerleaders? I'm friends with a couple and it should definitely be considered a sport.
-
I wasn't being facetious buddy...
-
I don't even think that's accurate. People have died from eating competitions. Not too long ago in Texas, I believe, was the last one I read about. I've never heard of anyone directly dying from playing games. The people I have heard of died of playing (usually MMO's on PC) multiple days in a row without sleep and not using the bathroom appropriately on time, drinking too many energy drinks, etc... Not the games fault they were stupid and paid the price.

Edited by Baconators Live: 8/16/2014 8:23:21 PMWell the last big tournament for a FPS payed the winner 200,000 dollars, but your right no skill was involved, hell thats probably just pocket change to you boss : )
-
Are you sure that $200000 was not the sum of all the prize money given away?
-
Yes it was a halo 4 tourney that paid the grand prize of 200,000 dollars to the winner, An MLG player called Ace won the tourney. The total pay outs to all players that finished high in the tourney was more than a half of a million dollars. It was called (Halo 4 Global Championship) google it if ya like :/

Well I'll be damned, that's a lot of money. A bit too much money I think
