Ok. Remember way back when. Way before the beta and the alpha when bungie said they aren't going to force you to play any certain way?
There's something for everyone. PVP, lore, story, PVE, co-op multiplayer... Correct?
Well I don't mind the crucible. I actually like it a lot. But doesn't it seem that since the beta and alpha, bungie sort of lost their information on tweets and weekly updates with their lore and story and are kind of forcing the crucible down our throats?
Don't get me wrong. Like I said I love PVP. BUT. I'm just worried that Bungie will be putting more of their DLC Development time into crucible and forget about the players that enjoy the story, lore, and exploration RPG aspect of the game.
Anyone else feel this way about their recent posts. I mean 98% has been crucible related and I'm starting to feel this is going to end up becoming a PVP dominated game.
STOP SHOVING PVP down our throats, Bungie!!!!

you must not be paying that close attention. They talk about raids and strikes (PVE) all the time. But now they are talking about crucible (PVP) for the first in-depth time. I don't see this as shoving it down our throats it's just now they are releasing details that we haven't known before. Plus they said the expansion (not map-pack) will have story elements along with crucible stuff. And clearly they can't dive that deep in the store because....well.....spoilers.
-
But their tweets and publishes have been nothing BUT crucible for the past 2 months. Look back. Probably 98% of the posts have all been about armor and gear for crucible, etc. Etc.
-
It might all come down to how you follow them. I don't follow twitter very well so for me I don't see all the pvp talk
-
Yeah. Seems like now we are getting some good PVE twitter posts. Videos of Venus and Mars. Awesome
-
They know they have the PvE crowd hooked they are trying to reel in the PvP population now. They aren't forgetting anything or ignoring any future aspect of the game, it's targeting a different crowd, that's all.
-
I think the reason they are doing a lot of pop is because they hadn't done anything with it they needed a test of what it was first before they talked about it that test being the alpha and beta they already have the story and they will most likely add dlc for the story but right now they are just advertising the PVP
-
Just wait until it comes out and a few weeks after that... No one really knows... So stop making assumptions! :)
-
The first downloadable explanations are targeted towards story and free roam
-
I actually felt quite the opposite. Up until fairly recently we had not received hardly any mention of PVP. They have not said anything about being required to do PVP for any reason. They have said you can get gear from playing in the crucible, but they didn't say that's the only place to get gear in the game. I think the amount of PVE loot will be far more vast. I'm more worried that there won't be as much PVP support in the game. I have no doubts that the PVE aspect of the game will be well covered. Hopefully there will be a good balance of PVE and PVP, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
-
They already announced that the dlc would have extended story missions and regular missions for PVE they can't just make dlc just for crucible although I love PVP for the game and honostly wouldn't mind if they did that. But they have to make dlc for PVE or it would ruin the players experience of the game
-
No I totally feel you. I'm buying destiny 100% for the co-op rpg and the story. Ill hit the crucible only if I'm looking for crucible points. If they focus too much on it and neglect the rpg aspect ill lose interest quick.
-
But they will already have cashed ur check....
-
Yeah..... I'm hopeful it won't come to that though.
-
I think they are just promoting the PVP part of the game recently because our experience with it was so limited until recently...the already showed us the Lore since the start so it's only fitting to get the crucible some limelight...DLC will probably bring something for all parts of the game
-
Pvp is what its all about. Yeah, gear is fun, but halo was all about pvp or team vs team. U cant stray from such success
-
Yeah I agree but they seem like they got a solid story and great gameplay in regards to co-op. I would just hate to see a great game or a game with great potential turn into another call of duty where it's really only loved for it's PVP. I just hope bungie doesn't fumble this one. Halo was great and all and I'm a sony and a Microsoft fan but idk. I lost interest after halo 2
-
I doubt they will fumble this. They made the best multi player game out there and if it aint broke dont fix it. Like all games these days story mode only goes so far until it becomes pvp which is thier bread n butter
-
I 100% agree with you man, I feel the exact same way
