"Casuals" don't hate "Competitive" gamers. They hate the matter-of-fact attitude that PvP is the be all, end all of gaming and that any game that doesn't bend over backwards to tailor to the competitive community is an utter failure.
You can't show up to a game that is arguably from the beginning been PvE-centric and get in a huff that the game isn't PvP enough. You knew that walking in. It was on a sign at the door. It was written on the invitation and repeated on the RSVP. PvP is a slice of the pie. It's not the entire pie. That is why "casuals" get pissy at competitive players. Because they are all showing up at the last minute, acting like they own the place, and can't be bothered with learning about what kind of game Destiny actually is.
