That's like a high school Bball player that loves Bball but Hates NBA..
I hate how it's casual vs. competitive (hardcore) players in the forums..
Shouldn't we be helping each other to make a game that we all love to be better?
How can private matches hurt or spoil the fun for casual gamers?
Edit: well at least we ALL agree, that private matches won't hurt anyone by adding it to the game. Thank you for the posts, I have a bigger understanding for both sides.

Why do you assume hardcore players are just here for pvp bullshit? Please don't assume that everyone who isn't a filthy casual, is a god damn major league try hard, like the CoD dudebros. That said, I also want private matches
-
mlg hate casuals because casuals are badkids casuals hate mlg because they are bad and then im in the middle not giving a -blam!-
-
Shouldn't the question be: Why do MLG gamers hate casuals?
-
Because as soon as something changes in the game, whether it be through a patch or in a sequel, they are the first to piss and moan about it.
-
Did it work?

I have always been a mixed bag between Casual and competitive. The best way i could put it is, Il try my absolute best to get a good score while still having fun. A good example of this for me would be. -"Doing old Russia's strike on Hard and aiming for a high score but still having a good time doing so" All this nonsense about competitive vs casuals is just plain silly. In the end were just different types of gamers who play in different ways. Even the most competitive of players will tell you that 3 months of training and loads of getting annoyed in game was there way of "Having fun". And the casual players will tell you that "Sitting on the couch with a coke, a few mates and two Xbox's on a Saturday night and just doing a few rounds on Halo 5 guardians" is there way of "having fun".. And there is nothing wrong with either of them because every person has there own play-style and opinion on what's fun. The only time that either of these really crosses the line is when a Competitive player is so obsessed with winning that fun is not a factor, Cheating, kicking other players to get you're mates in and being rude to other players for not following you're direct orders over in game chat are some of the many examples of competitive gaming crossing the line. And then we have the Casual line crossers that Betray there team, completely ignore the games objective and act like complete children in game. P.S MLG is not a type of gamer, MLG is technically a Brand in gaming where the most competitive of players go to get a new challenge and earn rewards for there work. MLG has been known to take in pretty mature competitive players who follow the rules and don't cross the line will still maintaining there professional and aggressive person's in game, But even this iconic name in gaming has got its group of obsessed Elitists over the years.

private matches won't hurt anyone.

Cause mlg are also casuals
-
Are you suggesting that anyone who doesn't play hardcore competitive PvP is a casual? Because I assure you, I'm totally hardcore about PvE.
-
Because many people see MLG participants as people who take the game way too seriously. While not all of them are that bad, it's always the worst ones that will stand out; which can be said for any sort of group/organization/etc.
-
I think there's a common misperception that they are some sort of tryhards who don't enjoy playing games unless they defeat you so hard that your body is found 6 THOUSAND feet under with no chance of respawning Also, people think MLG wants to turn every game into something like CS where there are no variables at all except skill level
-
Whats mlg...?
-
I don't hate anyone.

Games were made for entertainment to begin with. A video game is firstly just a form of relaxation. Something a player can do in the comfort of his/ her own home. Something a person can do without too many hassles. Once you make that overly competitive it looses the relaxing, carefree feel. It becomes something people practice, and purchase stupid modded controllers. It's pretty ridiculous how people consider a video game to be that important. 100 dollar controller? Crazy. I love competing in PVP matches, and I also enjoy PVE a lot. Doesn't mean that I'm a hardcore gamer. My point is PVP is just enough competition to have fun for a match that lasts a few minutes, then go about my business. Instead of a 3 day tournie that pits your team against 45 other teams. Seriously, WTF man. Play the game, have some fun. Meet up with some friends and have a beer, not meet up and practice for 7 months for the next Contest.

At least it's not the console war anymore

MLG----misaligned louse group............MLG is some of the most crap talking rude gamers for the most part.yes not all are jackasses but the ones that are present a horrible image of the group. I'm 51 and been gaming since ninetindo . Ya campin bitches..........that sentiment is the dying words for CoD.....they talk skill matches which to me is bull crap.........can you make a soldier out of anyone...for the most part yes, and only a select few have the intelect to be a startegist, and even fewer to be a sniper...........they hate campers cause they can't out shoot a sharp strategy........battles are not fought by soldiers running around running and gunning........they are fought in battle planned tactics of tactical advantage points to hold and defend.........but that being said .they ( MLG) are entitled to like what ever style of play they want..........But not to mouth and ruin the gaming atmosphere with arrogant attitude . They will soon learn that game style is going to die out sooner than later............CoD has sucked ever since black ops......and has steady got to be just a release of new faces on the same game............BORING........................I plan on enjoying Destiny with alot of my friends.............and I wish you all lots of fun driving the darkness back to hell.........

I could ask the same question, why do hardcore players hate casuals? Not that Destiny is an MMO, but in most cases if someone has never done something before, and asks nicely, they are either booted, or someone rage quits. Very rarely do people actual give advice or helps the person.
-
Because we are tryhards bra
-
First of all, MLG is a company. It is only used in this forum because it spawned an entire community of viewers through Halo. I am confused if you are specifically referring to MLG or Esports in general. I personally don't like MLG because they go where the money goes and don't really show a lot of passion for content.
-
Why are you referring to people that don't partake in MLG casual? When you have a game like destiny that is using a mmo pve approach you can't say that only the PvP players are hardcore. You will find that a person that enjoys raids will put just as much, if not more, effort into the game.
-
<implying only casual gamers complain about MLG. More often than not they're douchebags, people who think they're god among men at a game. And if you beat them, the reaction is often hilarious.
-
Alot of people in mlg have the "^*%k measuring contest attitude all the time & are over obsessed with stats to the point where its more of a job than having some fun/entertainment. I don't really have a problem with them but some of them act like a dumb jock in high school thats juicing roids. Of course some casuals are that way too
-
I consider myself competitive but i can't stand them that's all they do is bitch and moan, i remember being on the forums for halo reach and that's they would do was bitch the game wasn't made for them.

Edited by DEZARATH: 8/16/2014 12:12:04 AMI don't care what you do in a private match. I don't care about the crucible or the Iron banner. I would rather options than none. Whatever. It's the insurmountable wave of jerks who show up in the forums and lobbies making sure your competitive culture finds itself rated as a choice between them or a case of tape worms and gout that's the problem.
