WHY? No private matches?
No competitive destiny multiplayer. The only thing there will be is bare bones matchmaking in an almost complete TDM filled system?
Machinimas, Playing with other clans, Messing around and playing silly games like michael meyers or just playing against freinds in general. All gone.
A staple of gaming. Not just the FPS genre.
And after all of the time that bungie had praised their community for making machinimas, for making crazy games, for doing funny and entertaining stuff with their game. They end up just removing that option entirely for no reason.
Oh well. Figured i'd share my thoughts. Here comes the storm of people telling me to go back to Call of Duty for wanting private matches.

Me and one of my halo friends I know in real life got hyped about destiny like a year ago. After we watched some of the alpha gameplay, we were convinced that this game would be in the MLG/competitive game scene, so we practiced shooting and communication by playing halo for months. We wanted to go to local tournaments, try to have a high ranking in the leaderboards, and practice in private matches in Destiny and what not. But now that he's heard there will be no private matches, and probably no ranking/leaderboard, he says he's not going to be focusing his time on Destiny when it comes out.

6 RepliesWelcome to the club, people asked why is there no MM in Raids, why is there no in game chat, why is there no in game clan support. Now, why is there no private match making. Perfectly legitimate questions and things that should be included. Yet, some people act like you walked up and punched their sainted mother for bringing it up.

1 ReplySo...... you don't think machinimas can't be done on Explore mode, which is a much wider landscape, and variety of location, than the Halo MP maps? You think machinimas can't be done with characters of much more visual variety than just color variants of two/three people? Only thing you have is the loss of MP variety, but guess what: It's a fresh IP from a group who've been forced to drone out Halo titles until they bought their freedom, and now they have a large amount of new people. Give them a game and DLC to make changes. If they wound up making the perfect game right here, how could you improve the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th titles, or add DLC? Those games would be boring according to you and this forum if the first game was perfect.

6 RepliesThey didnt have private servers at the beginning of bf4. But they added that later once the game had been fully released maybe that is what they are doing somthing similar?

9 RepliesIt's not possible with Destiny, because all servers are privately hosted. So it would be impossible to make private hosted matches.
