I'm wondering how good the vanguard armory really is. Personally I think it's going to get pretty useless as the game goes on.

I think it progresses along with you. Higher level = better the items. Probably rolls random gears just like the Cryptarch and the Weapon Vendor.

1 ReplyIs vanguard the PS exclusive gear? I saw the stats on those and they had freaking ability trees on them!
-
I don't know, because the vanguard gear in the Tower during the beta was all level 20, but in the early access trailer, its all ready to go right away. I am going to guess that the weapons in stock may become more powerful as we level up?
-
Good for day one maybe day two depending how many hours you put in when you get the game. I consider it a boost mostly for the PvE which will help getting kills faster and to level up a little bit faster until we get the really good stuff.
-
It's an upgrades when you do just like the other shops I believe. So it'll stsrt with low stuff and then get better items the higher we level. Or at least I hope so.
-
the video had some damage going to the hundreds either way I'll keep it in my vault for the other character classes to use as noobs
-
I agree

I seen a video somewhere showing each of those weapons were only in the 60 dmg range. So.. guessing they'll only be level 8-9, and quickly replaced if you're leveling/farming fast.

1 ReplyWell I'd think it be like any game that has loot the best stuff always drops in the field

5 RepliesThe vanguard gear is basically just for looks, as soon as you hit lv 5 you'll have better gear. That's what this gear does traditionally, it's a devs way to generate more money.

8 RepliesEdited by NeoZephyr: 8/14/2014 10:32:31 PMYour assumption should be correct, and it makes sense why. All of our explore mission bounties will be turned in for vanguard points until we hit level 20 when faction gear finally opens up. I have a question for you all though - can we earn points for factions before we hit level 20 even though all their gear is level 20?
-
They're green and blue gear
-
8 RepliesGoing to keep them for skins. Bungie has said they have a system for things like that. We just havent got to use it in the beta that i am looking forward to.
-
The vanguard gear you could see in the beta was level 20 and it seemed decent. However there was no way to use it so there is no way to tell if its good or if it has staying power in the game A better question is are they going to have gear (guns or armor) of a higher level then 20 or are levels past that going to only upgrade our guardian and we will just have to run with level 20 gear.

4 RepliesWell, in my experience, the Vandguard is fine up to about level 18, but after that, it's just pretty freaking useless . . .. WTF is with these questions. Unless Deej comes along and actually answers you, no one has a freaking clue what's going to happen beyond the beta.

1 ReplyEdited by Doc SoCal: 8/14/2014 9:36:22 PMIt is not supposed to be your end all gear, its just a lil help getting started. If you can use it starting out, how good could it be? So, yes your assumption is likely spot on unless we get access multiple times but I am pretty sure that's just the standard access and costs. It would kinda take a big chunk of fun out for me if they hand you the stuff you will use the whole game.

I bloody hope so laddy

Yes. It's all Uncommon type gear I believe/
